Mini Coupe Concept

Featured Replies

Has anyone else seen this and just thought....what's the point?

and is it me or does it look like a normal mini that's had it's rear end sat on by an elephant?

It's not to my liking , for sure.

On the midlands news today they mentioned the coupe and another variant of the mini that's soon to be launched.

We've already got a hatch , estate and convertible , what else can they do?

What they COULD do, is like a bigger version, proper 4 door hatch type, it'd have to have a different name though...how about 'Maxi'? :D

how about 'Maxi'? :D

That's not a bad idea you know.... But what would be quite a cool name is; the "Mini Maxi"

I like that!!!!!!!

Trouble is, is seems that anything that they release with the "Mini" name attached sells. Look at the horrible Clubman thing

Stand by for the 3 wheeled, 1 cylinder diesel version for the 3rd world markets..........

IMHO, most of the current crop of BMWs look pretty bad in the launch pictures, but in the metal they kind of work...so I have a feeling this will probably be similar.

Mind you, if it's got a MINI badge on it, it doesn't really matter what it looks like nor if it's any good as people will still queue up to buy it.

Rob.

Mmmmm....maxi.....:D

I quite like it ;)

I like the idea of the clubman - it's just a bit flawed.

Put rear doors on both sides and sort out the blind spot at the back and it would be much better

The fact that they don't put a rear door on the LHS probably says a lot about the countries where that particular model is popular!

Phil

It looks like its been squashed as others have said. I bet the back seats have limited space!

As opposed to the others with spacious rear seats?

I suppose the other variant of mini could be a soft-roader thing with chunky bumpers.

A 4x4 version ? Already been done in concept.

If that roof folds to a proper hard top convertible I could see it being popular, mainly because i dislike the ragtop version and think the hatch is a much nicer car.

It looks like a proper coupe rather than a folding tin top. Those I know with Mini's already seem to like the coupe, although without the stripes.

Can't say I'm in that category and think the hatch is still the best of the bunch :)

It isn't just you.

That's just peculiar.

It looks like it's wearing a toupé

Mmmmm....maxi.....:D

Don't you go knocking Austin Maxis :P

My late father had two of them, at least one of them being a 1750HL with the 'overdrive' gear. The colours had awesome names in those days - one was limeflower, the other was bracken IIRC

Is it just me or does the C-pillar design make the whole thing look wrong. I understand that they have tried to make the coupe have the floating roof like the hatch but i think it would look loads better if the c pillar merged into the roof and was either in the blue paint or the roof colour rather than the shiny black.

David

looks good imo different

That looks like a cartoon charachter that has a metal skull cap ;).

I thing the other is either a flatbed or a false 4x4 similar to the scout range that skoda have.

If its a 2 seater with a decent boot, then I'd buy one. :)

Tom, you'ld buy a turd on wheels if someone had one for sale......

That's no way to talk about an Avensis.
