Hi all

I'm now settling into my 2001 Fabia 1.4 16 v Elegance estate, after giving up my company Audi A3. It's not up to the Audi's standards, but the parts are dirt cheap in comparison

I've trawled thorugh this excellent site, and found some fantastic tips and advice:thumbup:

I've added the skoda cup holder (as I will be modifying the drawer to take my ipod) and an underseat drawer on the driver's side. All in the parts costs £45.00.

I also got some vinyl trims for £15 from the stealers, before and after shots below (poor quality pics, but was fitting them under cover as was showers at the time).

I think they make a vast improvement on the slab sided look, but SWMBO says the 30 mins of my time and the £15 was a waste all round.

Let me know what you think.

Next cosmetic task (it is only a 1.4 after all;)) is the wheels, and I'm thinking of some VRS alloys, so long as the speedo isn't messed up.

Also on the list is a long and meaningful conversation with the dealer who sold it to me saying the aircon worked, when it doesn't (according to the stealers the evap sensor is knacked, as the gas is full).

It may be lawyers at dawn!:jedi:

Looks really good. I am thinking of doing the same thing to my octy.

wasnt aware you could get the kit from the dealers though

The set for the Fabia (non-estate) is obsolete, so unavailable for order I think

I personally think its acquired taste, if you like it then it was worth the effort ?

I prefer them with, as it makes the car less golf-like, and a bit more distinctive. But I had to go and check our two because I wasn't sure if it was fitted to any of them or not ! It turns out - not

I think for the estate it works a treat, not sure about other models but it certainly makes it stand out a bit better and (if this makes any sense) a more prestigious look !

Looks a million times better!

Im currently half way through fitting this kit to my Fab vRS - How did you get on with the rear B pillar? I struggled getting the seal out of the door (as the window wont go all the way down), it rained and i had to stop . . . its not been try since! :(

Ignore SWMBO - that looks much better.

Be prepared for the dealer to get defensive on the air con, as the approved fix is dash-out. The other way is on here for about 30 quid and an hour's labour!

I freed the seal from the top of the door first (by simply pulling down on it) and then worked down the B pillar side of the door so i had something to get hold of to pull it from the door. I didn't fully pull out the inner seal (the one with the fake felt appearance) from the door where the window goes in as i found the rubber seal could be freed without doing so (using the same method of working from the top down).

If it is really stiff you could try using a bit of neat washing up liquid as a lubricant between the seal and the door frame to help it free up, and I certainly needed to use this to get the rubber seal back into position in the door (with a handy pair of hands belonging to my son pulling the window hard back into the other seal).

It also helps to move the window up and down as you free and replace the seals, as this can get things moving if road muck and time have set the seals in place.

Thanks for that, I'm hoping that is the case, as we can negotiate a reduction in the price already paid (ie I get a refund of at least half the charge for a dealers to remove the entire dash and fit the sensor) and then I get a sensor for c. £30.00 and then follow the excellent guide on here and hope that cures the air con.

That's one plan at least.

I've never understood why people get the black vinyl on the B pillars  I think it looks a lot better in the same colour as the car.. Each to their own tho

I think it makes a big improvement:
