R32 seats?????

Featured Replies

hi guys I have a few questions in what to look for on them,

is it an easy thing to swap them over?

what will come with them in order to get them fitted or is everything attached so nothing can go missing?

are there any places to look on them to see if they are bent or anything?

I have been told I can have them so I am off in an hr or so to get them,

cant wait but before I hand over the money I want to know they are ok and not broke or got things missin,

cheers for the help guys and for the speed,

billy:thumbup:

Very easy to swap. They just unplug and unbolt so just make sure the plugs haven't been cut off. It's quite hard to tell if they're bent as the runners aren't at the same height each side. All you can do is make sure the back lines up with base also check everything works especially the height adjustment.

Also get the rear centre seat belt as it's a lap belt in the R32 not a 3-point belt like you will have now.

cheers mate,

its for the seats only??? dont think the belt will come with them but I am not bothered bout the centre strap really as I am not puttin them in unless it looks too rubbish.

I am thinkin of gettin the fronts in and just take the centres out and replace with white like the std vRS seats so the R is not on there. if you can picture it?

billy

Sounds sweet idea mate.

Those seats are dam expense.

As you said you would be paying in excess of 900 quid for them, so dealers would be unthinkable. I did see a full set of fronts / backs / door cards and stearing wheel go for £1200 quid some time back which on the face of it now don't seem bad.

I keep thinking about this but can't justify the cost at the moment.

Ive been workin fo an agency wi the Post office for the last 4 week and I have payed everything this month so the GF said to get them.

I asked and she then changed her mind but then out of the blue yest said to go get them????????? random lol so I have got in touch wi the fella and jus waitin for his address to get up there lol.

I saw that on too but didnt have the money. That is not bad for everything, I jus waitin for a wheel for under 100 lol dont want the airbag tho.

billy

When I bought a set they were £1500 but they were much newer and harder to get then so I'd say £900 is about right.

nice to know lol I didnt pay anything like that lol,

and they are in better nick that the pics say. Cant wait to get them in the car, there is one of the sockets missin for the airbags iirc its the pass one but doesnt matter as mine doesnt have airbags or heated seats but if I find a trashed octy wi heater loom in it I might try get it but not too bothered lol.

the back seats are not really worn much at all and the fronts are pritty good to say they are fairly old. ill post pics when they are in. gonna match it all up to start with then decide what to do.

1: put the vRS rears in and get the R32 fronts covered in the middle with the same white as std

2: put all the R32 seats in and get the centres re covered in white leather and a vRS badge(colour) embroidered on like the R

what are ppls thoughts?

billy

ps OMG they are nice to sit in!!!!! and they hug you really nice tooooo

keep the r32 seats as they are dont mess with a great seat...

what you pay???

  • Author

lol now that would be tellin,

I not really gonna mess wi them just get the black leather changed for white so it matches the vRS interior. not gonna be this year tho, pos next year.

gonna see what they look like before I make my mine up, and a bonus is they are from a 5 door R32 so I dont have that crappy handle lol

didnt get the lap strap tho for the back but then I never really take passangers in the back.

Billy do you think that the Missus may have randomly said just go get them to stop you bloody mithering her about them lol?????????????

mmmm hadnt thought bout that lol

hows you ne way been a while mate, was gonna get thet little thing on the drivers wing sorted as Its worse now lol but still not too bad at a distance.

these came up and sold but the guy didnt pay so were re listed and still noone went for them so I offered him some lol and luckilly he went for it.

I am hopin that she likes them when they are in as the std seats are ok but not that good on long none stop trips.

billy

pics pics pics:D

:iagree::wrthless:

didnt get the lap strap tho for the back but then I never really take passangers in the back.

I never used it but it makes it easier come MOT time.

  • Author

forgot about that mate, cheers, Ill source one somewhere and fit it jus for the MOT so doesnt matter on the colour then.

Ill have pics up tomoz provided I dont get a call form the Agency to go Drive something lol. cant wait to get them in.

and the Turtle wax leather cleaner is awsome and brings the seats back to new. I put a load on last night and a bit more on thismornin. gonna scrub them up again tonight and leave a load more on tonight to get them as lush as pos.

PICS TO COME and ill try fiddle wi them on paint and show you what I would like them to look like. (one day)lol

billy

I know you have only just got these - Would you be interested in selling them? :)

lol I did have one 30 seconds of madness.........................

but nope, sorry, they are so much nicer to sit in than the std seats. I have just put the drivers one in. takes 10 mins to do. I sat there for 20 mins jus admiring it,

all the seats are perfect really bar the drivers one which has some wear on the bolster by the door but after puttin lots of turtle wax stuff on it is not noticable and it is all plush again and about 2" scratch in the leather where ur *** goes, but thats one that will be commin out and gettin covered in white anyway. when I get the car washed again tomoz and all the rest in Ill put some pics on.

cheers for the offer tho Rob

billy

woudnt worry about the lap belt i havent got one and have never failed a mot:thumbup:

yea I have an excuse now lol.

She is a 4 seater now not 5

I didn't have a problem at MOT time when I bought my recaro's. My rear seat had a 3 point belt in the centre but the bolts to hold it into the base were different so I never connected in up, just left it hanging in the boot.

Get all the seats in and get those pictures up. Some people are wheel whores, I'm a seat whore and those are the only seats I've not fitted to my car, would love a set though.

I have thought about new (front) seats, lumbar support has gone on the drivers. For me there are only three alternatives worth considering, R32, S3 Recaro or Cupra R Recaro. Only two if you want leather!

  • Author

I personaly dont like the S3 ones, they are cheaper tho which is good but I dont think they look as good.

As promised:

I am in the process of using paint on the pics to show you how I want it to look.

billy
