Hi,

Today I've been in and paid the deposit on a New Superb SE 2.0 CR TDI 170 in steel grey and will be picking it up on the 3rd October. Its a showroom car and not registered as yet - it has a few extras, some I wouldn't have chosen but I was happy with the deal I got and I don't have to wait too long. Traded in a very clean 56 plate Fabia vRS with 27k on the clock.

Whilst I was really pleased with the Fabia its just not big enough with 2 kids. I looked around at lots of cars - Passats, Mondeo's (both too dull), S-Max, Touran, Legacy and an Octy vRS (the wife has an 1.9 elegance estate so went for something different).

Test drove an elegance with the same engine and they go really well for a big car. I cannot wait to get it:D

Congratulations for the Superb! You won't be disappointed.I have one question, why do you have to wait until 3rd October if it's a showroom car?

well done mate I have done excertly the same. I'am trading in my Oct 1.9 TDI elegance with sports pack for a Anthracite Grey Superb 170 BHP CR Elegance. Mine is also a ex showroon, well it was classed as a static demo, the car has only 300 miles on clock. Well pleased, got a great price for my octavia. I also have to wait something to do with the 90 day rule on demo cars, it is some rule the volkswagon have across all of the group. If a gargre breaks it then the govement insist that VAT has to be paid. It is worth the wait if you save the VAT 4k in my case

It's not a demo car - only 5 miles on the clock. I picked the 3rd so I'm into the new month for the VED.

Patience is a virtue!! (and I'm half Scottish :D)

Even though its a showroom car it still needs a PDI. Dealer locked it up and put the sold notice on it as soon as I'd said yes.

Just had another bonus - called my insurance company with the details expecting a big increase (higher value & BHP than the vRS) and no change in premium:thumbup:

5 days and counting.
