Sprint yellow facelift vRS

Featured Replies

Just querying whether anyone is prepared to own up to ordering a facelift vRS (either hatch or estate) in sprint yellow, and if not, why not.

I know it's a £400 option, but that's no more than metallic or pearl finishes.

So the other reasons I can think are :-

1. People just hate yellow cars

2. It would have a detrimental effect on resale value

Anyone like to add their 2p worth ?

Go yellow! Y'know it makes sense ;):D

Now what gave me the idea you'd say that ???????? :)

Go white insteed.. !!

I whished that my G/F let me order my new Octavia in white.. :(

When I ordered mine I did consider the Yellow (no pressure from people I know or anything :D)

But when I thought about it a bit more I wasn't sure if I could live with it on a day to day basis or whether resale would be an issue so I plumped for Race Blue.

Banana Yellow is so dot-com 90's (think Banana Yellow Saab convertibles). Don't do it.

I fancied a yellow Mk2, always liked the Mk1 with the Anthracite alloys and the Volvo 850 R's in yellow, but was told resale values of yellow ones are lower because only 10% of people would drive one. Plus the wife was not keen at all.

I did briefly consider Sprint Yellow and the brochure dated 07/09 did not show it as a cost option. I object to having to spend an extra £400 for a pot of paint:thumbdwn:

I had from new in 1978 a Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 in Daytona Yellow with a black vinyl roof (no laughing!) but I was young and it was an 'in' colour for Fords then.

For me now the yellow is just a bit too bright and the ones for sale in Autotrader and Skoda seem to take ages to sell

You never know, in a few years time when you come to sell it, it might have come into fashion :rofl:

I like yellow cars but wouldn't want one for me personally especially an Octavia.....Regarding yellow Skoda's,looking at the fabia in yellow, the paint looks so thin in the edges, looks like it's been only given one coat with the undercoat still visible.....Prefer red or black or maybe even the Anthracite on an vRS,Race blue looks a tad too vulgar IMO.

Anthracite FTW!!

the yellow is nice but when talking about colours at the dealership both of the salemen started to laugh when yellow was mentioned...........you have to be brave to pick it! But then when I said white they also said people will think its a police car.

I had a yellow car before.

It's nice and bright and you can easily spot it in a parking lot .

Go for it !

Another (probably unsurprising) vote for yellow here!

I know Chris Ellis has the Octy MK II (pre-FL) in yellow and I think it looks stunning.

Not sure what you mean by that?

Th older Fabias and Mk I Octys were Lemon Yellow which is not as bright as the current Sprint Yellow.

I certainly can't see any signs of undercoat here....

The Mark 1 Fabia had much much much better build quality than the Mark 2 Fabia including the paint work .... If you look at the edges especially the plastic painted trim on a yellow mark 2 Fabia it looks as if it needs more paint ....

I'd certainly go along with that, especially with the dark anthracites on it

I like Yellow cars but didn't feel Yellow matched the cars personality.

I'm going for Anthracite..subtle muscle...though it is a TDI...if I wanted the petrol version (and wanted a another car the wife won't drive!;)) then Yellow could still be on the cards!

I had a yellow Ibiza Cupra and while it looked really nice to start with, once I had to have a wing sprayed, the colour had faded so much it was hard to match and ended up looking like a patchwork quilt. I think yellow can look nice on small hatchbacks, but IMHO it just doesn't suit the Octavia.

One problem with yellow.....in Bournemouth all the Skoda Octavia taxi's are yellow.

Sprint yellow you got to have balls to buy one:D.

Sorry guys but there was only two cars you could safely buy in yellow; the Dolomite Sprint and the Cinquecento Sporting!

This is my first one before some doughnut wrote it off by hitting it up the backside at the lights - said he didn't see it!!

I so nearly bought a yellow Furby but compared to the "Galio Ginestra" ie: Ferrari Yellow of the Cinq, the Furby yellow looked washed out. My missus took one look and said "ah, baby cack yellow"
