Crazy times. They’ve probably done it because were in a recession and they know everyone is loaded! haha :D

Why would anyone buy a Golf? lol

Beats me; they're not even fitting a 6-cylinder to it anymore!

Exactly mate! And that Golf R is more than a Focus RS!

Followed one of them there white Bocanegra's into work this morning, to be honest it didn't look too hot.

Took the corners nicely, though there was a bit of traffic on the lanes so I couldn't see how well it really went. Seemed to do 40+ very well in the 30 zones in a straight line...

I had 2 Skodas, fabia vrs and the Plaxton bus vrs tdi. Sold the Octavia content waiting a year on a fabia. but at that price, and with a DSG I decided no way. DSG is all fine & dandy if you're not intent on keeping it outside warranty.

Think I'll be hanging on to my MPS 3 then if no oil burner !

I took an Ibiza Bocanegra out for a test drive today. Engine was an absolute gem, stacks of performance on tap almost anywhere in the rev range. Once above 3k rpm it develops a real snarl that is quite addictive. I reckon that would hammer the old fuel consumption!

Handling was superb for a front drive hatch, felt almost as secure as a Civic Type R, trouble was the ride is just like a Type R as well, rock hard, nowhere near as comfortable as the Fabia VRS, or my Altea Sport. Then the gearbox, which I expected to be a disappointment , from the reviews so far, was superb. I think, if anything its too efficient, which appears to lack the edge of a manual box.

For everyday driving its brilliant, but I'm a fan of DSG anyway, so maybe I'm not being completely objective. Very refined to drive around, but it does have that little lag on pull away that affects all the DSG cars I've driven. I'm petty used to it, but it might annoy some.

I can't help thinking that by the time Skoda gets their version of this package, it will be a more rounded product, least I hope so.
