Sounds a long time for delivery didnt realise the 'Yeti' was having to carry each one over from factory on his back !!!!!! at least it will give me a better idea of how long these things take

Thanks itey

Just heard that my Yeti has been issued with the sea sick tablets and is heading for the duty free! A surprise because I was quoted mid December. Now I hope to be collecting mid November.

For the record 2.0 140 bhp 4x4 in SE trim with off road button, hill start and a false boot floor! Cappucino metallic. (I bet no-one else has picked that colour so I'll be unique!!!)

Arrived at Emden or on a ship? If it's at Emden hope yours doesn't do the amount of sightseeing there mine has.

I see you have gone for some similar options like the off-road button & hill hold. Think these should really be standard on all the 4x4, particularly the ORB as it's one of the Yeti's unique features.

Not enough detail yet. Will need to give it a week to firm up. I ordered on 9th October so I don't think it has been hanging around for long.

Is it possible that, for the UK, they hold the cars until they have a boat load then shift in bulk? Emden is a collection point on the route across.

I understand Emden is one of the main ports for export and import of vehicles within Europe, also led to believe VW have a factory close by.

I would think it's a safe bet that they only ship when there is a full load and I think cars come into various ports in the UK depending on final destination. For example my dealer tells me that my Snow-Monster is bound for Grimsby (a port just over an hour south of where I live). Whereas someone on the Octy forum was indicating their Octavia was bound for Sherness. So this could explain why mine has been waiting over a week to get to Grimsby, not enough cars bound for that port.

Once here according to my dealer there could be further delays, as they are now only moving cars out of the holding areas when they can completely fill a transporter heading for a particular area to reduce cost.

Well I stand no chance living in North Wales. Its quite pathetic really, shops like Machine Mart stop at Chester. There is a large population over here but we only got Tesco's locally four years ago.

Thanks for the info - very helpful.

We've ordered the non-metallic Corrida Red (I always think £400 is a bit 'steep' for some paint - though we normally do choose metallic) and a couple of (for us) essential options - rear sensors and full size (though, steel) wheel. We've also gone for the 'Off Road' 'button' - incredidbly good value for £80 !

One other point which has intrigued me - have you (or anyone else) seen the recently published economy figures for the 110hp diesel (in the Download Brochure from SUK - I don't think they've got round to the printed version with the 110hp figures - they were still, "to be confirmed" in the September brochure) ? I'm sure they've got the 110 and 140hp model figures the 'wrong way round' - they've said 46.3 mpg combined for the 110 and 47.1 for the 140 (despite the fact that the September brochure - confirmed - figures for the 140, were 46.3 !). They also seem to have got the CO2 figures the wrong way round (saying 159 for the 110hp and 157 for the 140hp - again they were confirmed in September as 159 for the 140 !). I've pointed this (mistake ?) out to Customer Services, but they don't seem to have changed the Download brochure - or told me I'm wrong !

Looks like we have an answer to this question thanks to JonA. They are introducing an updated engine.

Itey

Was yours really ordered 28 October? Your post was only on 30 October?

My dealer can't yet seem to find a build date for my 110se 2wd (ordered 15 Oct)

tom

I have spoken to my salesman, and he could tell me that my car is on the train from Kvasiny to Bremerhaven. The car was finished at the factory the 26. october, and on the train on the 29. :)

I have also gotten the VIN number on my new car, and can confirm that my car has got the CBDB "first generation CR engine" :)

Yep didn't find this forum until after i had ordered ,stumbled on it by accident when looking for further info.

Quick update

Spoke to dealer again; Snow-monster now in Grimsby just down the road. Dealer cannot confirm when they will get delivery only it could take up to 10 days; see previous post above (will have been built almost a month by then).

Oh as an extra irritation; if it's not with them by next Monday I will have to wait to around the 20th - 23rd before I can pick up due to Skoda switching to a new tracking and delivery system. This will stop all vehicle registrations & deliveries until it's complete as apparently this new system will allocate a registration direct from the DVLA, rather than via the dealer.

Had read about this on the Octavia forum but starting two days later than my dealer reckons.

Ohh! Must be frustrating to know your brand spanking new car is that close, and (maybe) still so far away! Lets hope your dealer can get hold of your car before the switch to the new system, so that you don't have to wait any longer than you have to!!

I'm getting impatient just by knowing my car is on the train to Gremany, so I can imagine how you must feel :)

Give your dealer a call, and "beg" for them to push the people they have to push to get a hold of your car as soon as possible

Hoping for the best!

Got my Yeti last Thursday, has already been tested out on some very wet and waterloged fields and came through with no problem, very pleased with car and the extras that i got, only thing i am not sure about is the DPF that is fitted, the dealer said that this was a dry type that would not need the 15min clean out like some others need ,can anybody shed anylight on this please?

The DPF in the Yeti needs cleaning/burning of soot, but the engine management system is supposed to care of it itself. Maybe the dealer meant that there is no additive to be refilled and therefore "dry" ?? If you read the manual, and follow the procedure described if the filter warning lamp lights up, the DPF is nothing to wory about :)

Congratulations on your new car, and I'm happy to hear that you are happy with it! :)

thanks for info, have been to dealer today and they have comfirmed it is a dry one so no need to worry about the 14-15 min burn out unlike the wet ones.:)

 It does have to go through that cycle - think its above 2,500rpm for so many miles or 10 + mins of driving - all VAG DPF's vehicles are the same as far as I was concerned??? The system doesnt use additives like some other manufacturers do.
