Insured with LV..

Featured Replies

Just reading the first page was enough for me.

How on earth do we know if we're insured or not with non increasing of cc mods then?

Totally baffled now. Seems you can't get a straight answer out of them.

I think a phone call is now in order, and do as one of them on that forum did...get confirmation in writing.

Check out post number 75

here is the Latest and re-assuring.....

I got a phone call from a high-up manager today who (due to the scale of problems and amount of people involved) Had taken this on and has dealt with this for me....

He has now advised me the person I dealt with and the underwriter was mistaken to cancel my policy. I am allowed mods as long as I keep recipts (they are listed in sections, engine, body, suspension etc) and were marked on my policy.

They reinstated my policy and without asking have given me a very reasonable gesture of goodwill. They are also going to send me a letter to confirm all of this.....

He is also going to get a 100% company line on this and email me a full response for me to post on the forum.

There are only two types of policy the ones over 18mth ago all mods had to be listed individually and.. the new type policy where I can mod anything except CC size of the engine (and even if CC size is changed they just need to ammend the policy to somthing more reflective of the new engine size). And to keep recipts as they are used when assessing any claim value..

SO the only thing people with the new type policy have to check is they have the correct modification sections marked to cover the mods that they have and don't need to list them individually.... If you have the old type policy you need to make sure the list is up to date....

Ok panic over we can all get back to worring about which mod to do next....

If anyone has had their policy cancelled like me please PM or email me and I will pass you the name and number of the manager at lV who dealt with this.

Cheers

its all ok, we are all covered.

Can i just point something out here..

They paid out on Jason's claim, and the service was pretty damn good.

No need to panic.

So we are all covered then...really hate all this scaremongering and bad info from uninformed and or badly trained staff.

Still going to ring them, and get confirmation in writing.

I think I am living proof of LV's (albeit back in Jan this year) willingness to allow mods to our cars, as long as we all keep proof of them. (pictures + receipts)...

So when it came to me claiming a write off from LV I simply sent them piccies of my VW alloys (no receipt though, but found found proof of RRP) sent them Jabba receipt (hush hush right! ;)) sent them receipt for the eibachs too, and they gave me what I might say was perhaps an overinflated value for my car of

This seems to be exactly the same nonsense I was getting from them when I looked at changing insurers.

I got different replies each time I asked and I couldn't be playing a guessing game about what I might or might not be covered for
