Fabia vRS 56 plate with 37k service due

Featured Replies

Hi all

I've done a search but can't find what I am looking for. The car is a 56 plate Fabia vRS and is coming up to its 37k service (40k?). Car was last serviced at 27k.

How much would I be looking at for a 40k service at a main dealer and what is involved?

Anyone had one done recently?

Cheers

6 months younger than my car... mine is due a cambelt change (only done 32k) in May 2010 and full service so guessing yours needs similar?

Be changing of oil/filters/brake fluid and checking of usual brake discs/pads etc

Expect it to be circa £200 + and factor another £200 or more for cambelt if its due, every 4 years or 60k now.

£200 for a cambelt from a dealer? the parts alone are nearly £150 from skoda !

I thought the belt was done at 60K???

cambelt kits are less than £100, what else are you fitting ?

You could always ask a dealer.

I thought the cambelt was something stupid like £12 or something? It's only a belt innit? I thought the cost involved was to do with the suffering caused by fitting the thing. Either way, mine ain't due till May 2011... :D

if you're doing the belt, you also need to do the tensioner/rollers etc. Not sure where you got £12 from though  If only!

Skoda garage did mine for about £300 with water pump which I thought was okay.

Cambelt kit, water pump and 2 bottles of g12 plus plus, the correct parts:thumbup:

but if the OP only wants a cambelt done, the kit is about £100 ? and lets face it , the engine is hardly likely to need a water pump at so low a mileage, yes i know the impellor can fail, but usually at higher mileages in my experience, so maybe a pump change at the second cambelt replacement, somewhere near 80k ?

Yes the pump is optional i dont force people to have it changed lol, but at the same time i ve seen them fail at 20k:eek:, i ve even had one come in on pdi with a failed pump and blown head gasket

on Fabias or another VAG product ?
