Octavia vRS pics after a bad crash!

His car was certainly a mess and was basically snapped around the front of my car, the accident seemed to throw my car in the air and sideways down a ditch as there is barely any damage to the wheels so i must of bounced over the curb.

I wont be buying another one as its a rule i have not to own the same car twice and with the recession I've taken quite a pay cut so was struggling to afford running it how it deserved to be treated. I bought a Ford Puma this weekend nice and cheap which although is no where near as safe i cant spend too much of my life worrying about it, although i don't use the same road for work any more as I had some very close calls about once a month with peoples dodgy overtakes and people skidding out of control.

It's not the safeness you should be worrying about with a Puma... :gay:

Damnit, where's the limp-wristed smiley gone!? :D

As long as it's not the 1.7 as that can have nikasil type issues.

As for your car, aye it's a mess and my MK I ended up in a similar situation, and I was so happy that I came out with very limited injuries for the impact that I decided a MK II was no bad thing.

You're very lucky, but nowhere near as lucky as the saxo driver. I've seen a saxo get a 90 degree impact at 30 and lose the front of the car everywhere with wheels and suspension turrets off.

Sure the saxo was very much average during it's time of design, but hitting a much more solid and modern car isn't going to do it any favours. Very lucky the idiot didn't have a passenger on board.

Hope it's all sorted now, but I'd be a little bit careful about posting up too much detail, for obvious reasons, until they other driver has been through the court system.

Just seen the answer to my question last night. Glad you're OK bud, but what a bell end driving the Saxo. He needs a long ban and a few hundred points on his license.

Take care in that Puma (thumbs up icon)

Crikey bud, the car Is almost unrecognisable as a mk1 vRS. Glad your ok.

nah a lot of people laughed at the Skoda and a lot of people will laugh at the puma but they're both incredibly good cars. the puma spanks the skoda in a lot of ways, but the skoda is a lot better in many other ways. I hadn't really seen the car as at the accident i wasnt really with it but seeing it when i took the photos really was a shock! just glad i have my feet from the pedals moving together.

Suppose that's the difference, with a 4-star EuroNCAP car:

Compared with 2-star for the Saxo! I'd daren't think what state that's in!

A very useful website, for obvious reasons...

This is one reason why I went for the Ocy as its mainly for my missus to cart my kids around in. 4 stars on a 7 year old car is damn good IMO.

Ouch!!! I think Baker21 would have trouble to polish it all out!!, lol. Easy on that A2. I'm glad to hear all involved are OK.

Glad your ok - that looks horrific. Shows that the Octavia is quite a strong car by the sounds of it, although the pedals moving together doesn't look too great!

Sorry to lighten the tone a little (I have already passed on my best wishes), but if there is anything this thread has thrown up it is that people don't know the difference between "your" and "you're".

It's "you're" when saying - "I'm glad you're alright"

but

it's "your" when saying - "**** - your car looks a mess"

:D

Your so picky Brimma.

I've given up, but Brimma is correct, particularly since it's as easy to get it right as wrong. The embarrassing thing is when a foreigner joins, types near perfect English, and then apologises for "their poor English"...

I love that.

Makes me chortle heartily!

Almost got a disiplinary for pointing out one of those gramatical errors to the call centre manager in a previous job

Ouch! Glad to hear your OK mate :) nice to know that the octy will stand up that well! have to say though it is a releif you dont have another Octy, you know how hard it is having two friends called Richard both with mk1 vRS'es!

So what year is your Puma? So if I see ya I can flash ya! it was easy with the octy it was the only other black one in Bicester!

Serious question though, if you get the car back from the insurance i will chuck ya some wonga for the wheels if in good nick, as mine have been scratched to S**it by the previous owner.
