Fabia vRS idling high

Featured Replies

Bloody pain, got this fixed last March but getting a new Throttle position sensor module and now it is bloody happening again! Argggh, I love my Skoda but it is a pain!

So, question, as far as I am aware it is a genuine Skoda part, any ideas on warranty for these parts? hopefully it is 2 years.

Cheers

So what should a vrs idle at?

Well, when my car is fine it is around 850rpm... but now it is broken again it is anywhere from 900 to 1500! A short blip of the pedal sorts it though.... I cannot believe the same thing has happened twice to me. Sadly the part only came with a 1 year warranty too.

Is there any reason that could be causing them to fail? or something else that may be at fault this time? or just typical bad luck?

Sigh

The first place to start, as with all these problems, is to read the error codes!

had this on mine thanks to Tech1e i found out it just needed a new throttle when its idling high try putting your foot under the throttle and pulling it back up on mine the rev went back to normal apparently its a common fault with them get the part and fit yourself its pretty easy :) pretty sure it was just the 2 nuts then its out :)

Any consequences apart from the revving high of not changing the Throttle position sensor module? Mine does it but cant afford to shell out £100 or more to fix it if it doesnt do any danage being left alone? Or effect speed?
