Fabia vRS tyres - what to get? Search is not working sorry

Featured Replies

Hi all

I'm after advice on what tyres to get for the front of the fabia. Currently its wearing continental contact 2s which I find ok. Mainly the car is used very slowly by the mrs on her 10mile commute.

I have read mixed reviews on the toyo proxies.

What do people think of the Pirellie P Zero NERO http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Pirelli/PZero-Nero.htm

I'm running Proxies but the tyre of choice on here seems to be te Uniroyal Rainsport2's at the minute :D

Go with the Toyo's

great tyre!

I've had Toyo's, Uniroyals, Khumo's and now Pirellie's on the front and for me it'd be the uniroyals (espeically given the time of year) followed by the pirellie's.

My 2p's worth.

I've got Marangoni Zetea Linea's on the front of my Fabia VRS and find them really good and good in the wet too

Minimal wheel spin on slippery surfaces and cornering in the rain is good aswell

Cost me £36 a tyre supplied and fitted and was the best £36 i've spent tbh!

Erm... I call BS/laziness.

Search is working fine and brought up many, many threads on the topic.

I agree with Babs about the fact there are SOOOOOOO many discussion about this already.

However if the car is only used for a slow and steady female commute (unlike mine which is used for a fast and durious female commute! :wonder:) i shouldn't worry about buying amazing grippy tyres like the Toyos. I'd go for length of life > grip and meet somewhere in the middle

Actually I understand that some DNS changes are still going through so he may still be using the old server in which case the search wasn't working ;)

Pfft :p

Hello

I brought my Fabia Vrs about 6 weeks ago and it had part worn Eagle gsd F1s on the front but after reading reviews about their performance in the cold weather I have just fitted Uniroyal Rainsport 2 tyres for the winter months as these get rave reviews. As said earlier, you may not need to worry about a high performance spec and save some money due to the driving style of the other half.

Rainsport 2s or Hankook V12 Evos.

Steve

Use 205/40/17 Toyo Proxes 4 for over a year now, find them very good.

And you must have changed some during that year.

Yes Toyo's Proxy T1r's are very grippy but not long lasting. Go for something long lasting like Michelin's for mega mileage.

Where do people get their Rainsports from? I'm struggling to find some.

I got mine from tyretraders.co.uk :) - a month or so ago...

Just come back to check this topic as I ended up getting some Uniroyal rainsport 2s from my local garage for £83 each fitted. They seem very good in the snow/wet.

And as for being lazy Babs when I initially posted this topic the search feature was not working, I know its been covered before hence why I said SORRY in the title of the post.
