Confused Wipers?!

Featured Replies

Hey folks,

Yesterday I defrosted my car as per usual, was driving along and tried to use my front washer jets but they were still frozen so just left it at that.

When I tried to use them about 15 minutes later the front wipers didn't activate at all. Now when I pull the stalk towards me as if I want to use the front washers, the rear wiper activates instead.

No matter what I do with the stalk I can't get the front wipers to work, only the rear.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Cheers

Yup happened to me last year, replacing the fuse fixed it :)

I keep a batch of mini blade fuses in the car now!

Sadly this is so common there is a STICKY at the top of the page. :giggle:

Oh well, too many kittens in the World anyway. :p

Sorry I just noticed there was a sticky for this as well! Sorry kittys :(

Replaced the fuse and the issue has been fixed.

Thanks guys

Glad you got it fixed

I had this same problem happen to me yesterday.

I'm glad it might only be the fuse and not the wiper motor.

Thanks.

I had this problem today. I ended up having to drive 10 miles in motorway traffic with no front wipers.

Bloody dangerous set up if you ask me.

I would say, in an emergency switch out fuse 15 for 23 or 4.

23 is the near side High beam, the left will still work.

4 is the interior light circuit.

And don't forget, the key is the recommended tool for removing the fuse panel trim!
