Audi VW Repair Centre - Bothwell & Clydebank

My car's due a service in March - not keen on using the dealer (Henry's quoted me £131 labour alone to change the heater / blower

resistor) so thinking of going independent - this mob seem to offer a pretty comprehensive service (for 1.9 TDI) for a reasonable £165.

Anyone on here used them, and if so, was their experience good, bad or indifferent?

Obviously not :giggle: !

I sent them an email asking for a price for a full bhuna service a week ago but they obviously don't want my custom as they haven't bothered to reply!

i have not used them personally but have heard good things about them from friends . Henrys can be a bit hit & miss at times but i will be going back there for my next service as they redeemed themselves after messing me around also their service prices are pretty good too

Thanks for the feedback. I emailed Audi VW Centre and emailed Henry's - only Henry's got back to back to me so they're getting my business (not much difference in price and Henry's is much more convenient for me as I work in the city centre) - I'm prepared to give Henry's a second chance despite quoting me £131 for labour alone to replace a heater resistor!!

I switched from Henrys to Parks in Hamilton. Been very happy with them so far... Got fed up with Henrys poor attitude.

Maybe ask them for a price?

Only problem is they have Jeremy Kyle on the TV in the waiting area...

I'm giving Henry's a second chance - any issues and I won't be back - they win on the convenience factor (I can leave the car with them and pick it up after work). To be fair, I nipped in a few weeks back to buy an alloy centre cap and screen wash - reception and parts staff were very pleasant.

No complaints about Henrys - £179 for a full service - only £14 more than the Audi VW Centre and more convenient for me - will probably continue to use them for servicing but will shop around if other work needs done.

What a difference a full service has made  it was running well before the service but now seems to have more oomph and is smoother.

I had a Lupo GTi before, which I loved, but now definitely don't regret the switch (despite the Fabia being 6 months older and with three times the mileage - 60-odd as opposed to just over 20 - still nothing on a 1.9TDI though). :)

I have used a couple of Skoda dealers the best by far is Newmarket in Bonnockburn near Stirling, a wee outfit and still family owned but best of all they still care. They know how important your car is and treat well, also they will take time to explain items to you. If you are buying aske for Stuart.

Audi VW Repair centre are good but not that cheaper than a dealer they use genuine parts and do know what they are doing and do it right.

I had my van serviced there

Oil, oil filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, airfilter, coolant and brake fluid change £231+vat

a simple oil change was £110+vat! i ended up doing it my self from then on aside from coolant and brake fluid change.

Be very careful.

Website (and staff) promise courtesy car, full valet and great service.

However, car came out with more problems, long delays, lies and they appeared to be guessing what was wrong

and the service was attrocious.

I foolishly thought that a nice setting and the name specialist was a good idea, lesson learned.

Will never go near this place again.
