Hello...About to order Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

Just made my mind up - will be ordering black Octavia vrS as soon as my existing company car lease is up.

Test drives completed on lots of cars but no competition at the Octavias price point.

Checked out the site for info and will be asking lots of questions about ICE as I spend along time in the car want a really good sound system fitted.

Cheers for now

Tim

Welcome to Briskoda.

Like you say not much around for a comparable price.

Welcome Tim :wave23d:

Great choice of car - but are you sure you don't want a yellow one :D

Me too. I should have mine by Christmas.. hopefully. :)

My local dealer said I could have any colour in 7 to 14 days for delivery - useful for me as I can't be too precise (i.e. weeks in advance) as to when I will need the car as it depends when the company car is recalled for sale.

Hi Tim, as the cars come with a standard head unit, you are really unlimited for ICE choice, there is a neat space under the boot floor next to the spare where l have fitted a 12 stacker CD system, hope you enjoy your car as much as l have enjoied mine

Hmm. Be surprised if that is the case. Especially if you want a black one.

I have to confess I wouldn't want to buy a new Octavia vRS when it is based on an old now obsolete model. I would wait for the vRS version of the Octy 2 if there ever is one.

IMHO, the current Octavia vRS is still the best value performance car available at it's pricepoint though. Plus, it may be another 2 years before a vRS version of the facelifted Octavia is released. IF it is released.

Not only that, I actually prefer the look of the older Octavia (although the interior of the new one is very nice) and the new vRS is likely to be a turbo diesel. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that I am not too keen on turbo diesels myself. Although the Fabia vRS is an ace little car

I prefer the look of the old Octavia's outside as well, but there is more to a car than looks. The new model will probably be a much safer car etc. Seen a Car programme on Sky Tv a while back. They crashed a current Espace into the model it replaced. Driver in the new one would have walked away, while the driver in the old model would have been history! It was the main reason I agreed to let the wife buy a new car rather than a cheap second hand run around. The current vRS is based on a car from 1996! Safer to wait for the new vRS or even buy the 140 bhp version that is already available. That is more than enough power.

First of all WELCOME! :wave23d:

Wayne - With regards to delivery times - I only had to wait 12 days for mine from date of order (picked it up at the end of Sept this year).

Maybe there has been a rush on - and I've heard the Police are bulk ordering because they are such a bargain! so perhaps new ones are having to come over from the factory?

Might be worth pushing the dealer to see if they have any vehicles which they can source from their 'system'?

You haven't looked at the link in my signature then

I am going from a reasonably highly modified 206bhp Rover turbo to a 180bhp Octavia. So that is only just enough power for me ...

Hello and Welcome.

I've just ordered mine same model- the dealer did it for 13K without any argument, if this helps.

In which case why not opt for dynamic blue? Whatever you do choose, welcome to Briskoda.

We have driven the current VRS and tested it to breaking point, ours at work have done 60K + and they still seem new. The power and road holding are the best we have driven.

At the moment skoda have 10% off the price because its the old shape.

IF there is a new shape octavia it will be a new product-different and it would take time to discover if it was an improvement on the old one.

After 2 years of VRS my company has found no other car to touch it- its a safe buy and a top car, (still got 6 weeks and 5 days to wait for mine to be delivered!)

Don't worry I'm sure the good Briskodians will help you through it! :D
