Upsolute Retuning

Featured Replies

Hello

A little surfing on retuning my VRS has thrown up a company not mentioned in the forum.

Anyone had experience of Upsolute? www.upsolute.com They appear to offer remap for 290 euros plus an installation fee of 70 Euros, which would work out at around

You pays your money and you makes your choice.

If the use the AMD chip, why have the chip changed , when AMD have the 1 click.

A mate has his Ibiza 110 TDI chipped by Upsolute. He's happy with it. It used to have a tuning box, the power is the same but the chip it a lot smoother in delivery.

They also offer a switchable chip, controlled by a key fob. That would be interesting.

Sorry to be a complete Noob, but what exactly is a one click? I have looked on the AMD website and it mentions one-click available but no details (or price!)...

Thanks,

It isn't mentioned on the site but basically it is a dongle that you plug into the OBD2 port to upload/download a sport map. You can switch between sport and normal map within about 2 minutes, Ed at AMD can explain any more info but basically it uprates the fuel going into the engine and uprates the boost pressure from the turbo. Price is

The Upsolute chip is different to the One Click in the method of switching between maps.

One Click is done thro' the OBD2 port & the Upsolute has a remote on the key fob.

If the upsolute is through a fob then there will have to be a piece of hardware attached to the ECU, with the One Click there is no visable evidence left on the car.

Ok here goes:

Where is the OBD2 port? - By the drivers right knee behind the can chiller.

Can you switch between maps on the fly (I'm doubtful of this tho)? - To remap you switch the engine off then remap it then restart and continue.

Is this fitted alongside the AMD chip i.e is this extra too it? - No your standard map is downloaded onto the one click device and it will them swap the sport map upto the ecu.

What sort of power/torque gains would I be looking at? - We have been informed 40bhp and 50tflb so you should see around 180-185 bhp / 280-290ftlb

Sorry for all the questions. I know I should just call AMD but' date=' well, I'm here typing them now!

Thanks,[/quote']

Needs a long straight down hill section then :D

Not exactly sure how it works, but I guess there would be "piggy back" chip on the ECU that could be activated thro' the fob.

Like you say, the One Click has no external evidence of the remap, just like Revo.

Apart from a big dent in your wallet and not from the AMD one click either.

UPsolute can also offer OBD re-maps but not in conjuction with the switch afaik.

UPsolute are much cheaper than other options, excluding discounts.

How much is the switchable map then ?

Chavey Boy,

Thanks for the reply.
