Bad news, guys!

Might be able to find a badly rear ended one to use as a transplant / donor car? :)

I thought of Austin Powers when I saw the pics... "Ouch baby. Very ouch!"

F*** ME mate, makes my year a good one.

How the hell are you joking and laughing like you are? I really do feel for you mate, Hope she gets sorted as youve done sooooo much, it reminds me a bit like them lot on bikes that were killed a year or so back due to ice on the road, should of been shut! Winter is a dangerous time. When you said a few blemishes I thought you might of scraped it a tad on the barriers, not head butted them.

all the best Clive

:( Bad news Clive!

I was expecting it to be worse than the pictures.I think they will repair it as the airbags stayed intact.

Hope you have a smooth claim and they don't mess you around.

I was going to PM you to see if you still wanted the wheels.

The most important thing is everyone is ok,as it doesn't take much to totally lose it and go spinning off sideways.

Jesus Clive, sorry to see this mate. As people have said, at least you're all OK. The conditions look terrible from that picture.

if it is written off then i will get another ofcourse i love these cars and will make the next one even better if it is written off

the wheels are straight and the main crash bars are fine so just cosmetic

lets see what they say

:'(

I had similar damage on mine Clive when I thumped into the back of a car that was pulling out at a roundabout then decided to stop half way..

Don't think I hit it has hard as your damage as lights were intact. However the most damage is caused by the bonnet pin being inside the front slam panel as that is fixed and thus as the bonnet get crumped pulls in the slam panel and wings.

Most of that stuff will need to be new. My repair bill was £2000 back in 2007 with paint and labour. Still have the price list of all the parts if you need it.

I angle grinded off the bonnet pin to be able to lift bonnet up to inspect damage.

Blimey - if the airbags don't activate with that sort of impact, when will they ? :o

My mate went through this a couple of months ago. He had to prove the mods via receipts, photos of projects and then battle it out with the insurance company to reach a price. He never quite recouped his money, but almost.

Bloody insurers, no doubt they had a list of his mods and had charged him a premium accordingly :@

Sorry to read about your woes Clive, at least you are alive to tell the tale, I think this year as been just about the worst I have known for untreated roads

will get some more pics up soon

as i see it ....its only a car and i can replace all the parts.

ashame but thats life

the main thing was no one was killed and im only sore

cheers for the support guys

where is baker21 when i need him :giggle:

i might have got front wings bonnet lights etc etc

Thats a sorry sight to see pal , glad your ok apart from the soreness , you have good outlook on the situration . end of the day your ok no broken bones and your not badly hurt and your car can get repaired .

your every lucky nothing was coming the otherway , could of been alot worse .

I have a rear bumper if you want it , im sort with a angle grinder and body filler you'll be able to make it to look like the front :)

if its a write of can i be cheaky and have first dibs on your turbo back system pretty please .

Gutted

How old is your car? Doesnt take much to write cars of these days. If it is buy is back and use it for spares and sell the rest. Wish I did that with Niccis old clio.

You'll need more than Baker and a polishing mop!

Seriously bad luck there, but atleast the manifold is safe.

Looking at the damage, I'd be surprised if the insurance company don't right it off. My wife has just had a drivers door replaced on her Fabia after an idiot reversed into it at her work's carpark. Done through insurance cost near £700 for a new door and mirror and then to paint and swap the internals across. Door shells are expensive but it'll be the labour that will be the killer on your car I'd have thought. If you've got the time and replacement bits lined up, then maybe best to buy it back as it were.

Least your not going to be too bothered about that rear spoiler now ;)

gutted for you mate, but at least your aren't badly injured and are fully legit with your insurance.

very true and this is why im not overly concern...

is a pain but hey ho came back to my kids that the main thing.

this is the reason all you people that havent declared there mods do it now as you never know whats around the corner  ice :giggle:

glad your ok

I do not think it will cheer you up but I had a crash last week in mine. However, not as bad one as yours , I am really sorry you mate. I am glad you went out ok. I hope you get this sorted out. I do not know what I would do if I were in your shoes...

Bit of bad luck there mate, at least it was only the car that got damaged. Hope everything goes well with the insurance company and they don't drag paying out too much.

if not i have a problem lol

i hope its fixable, glad your ok

Nice to hear your OK.

Bet it was a bit hairy!

Re: oil chain. Tough to tell, but when the foooked sump is dropped, you can turn the engine by using a bar/ratchet on the crank to see if it's turning fine.

Holy ****!!! Glad your OK Clive. Looks like the bulk of the force has been transmitted around the crash bar and there is a fair chance you may get away with it. How quickly would the oil have drained out before you managed to shut off?Not sure how much would have been in the pipes and how quickly it flows around or does it stop the second you lose pressure? Might be a good idea to check the turbo oil lines if you do buy back if they write it off though.

I am very surprised that the air bags didn't deploy though? thats worrying

Ooo what a shame :(

Glad you're not badly hurt, that's the main thing.

Glad your ok Matey, I'd be so gutted.........
