New vRS, Mats as standard ?

Featured Replies

So does a new vRS come with mats as standard ? Are they textile or rubber ?

The reason I ask is I ordered some "Floor Mats" £48.61 with my new vRS, dealer never advised me that it came with mats already.

Is he being a smart arse ?

So I'm expecting 2 sets of mats, standard and heavy duty rubber.

Yes they come with nice emboridered carpet mats as standard. :)

You can buy Rubber ones which are great, especially during winter months with dirty footware. They have a lip around them which holds in water. I have left the rubber ones in mine, much easier to clean and they fit like a glove.

Or should that be, "Yes they come with nice embroidered carpet mats as standard" B)

Yes you can get the (geniune Skoda) rubber ones off eBay for about 25 quid - I bought a set to put over the textile ones for the winter months to protect them - worth the money to keep them nice.

I have also ordered mats with my new octavia vrs.

If they come as standard am I now going to end up with 2 sets?!

The dealer should not be letting you buy mats when they should know they are standard on the vRS!!

Get a refund or get some rubber ones for the winter

The brochure/price list does not make this clear. This explains why the dealer happily threw in mats as part of a deal he offered me last weekend.

The brochure makes a lot of things unclear . . .

I'd hang on to them, my heels have gone through my drivers mat in the space of a year (about 18k miles)

I'm not going to buy Skoda mats again, had some quality aftermarket ones in my last car (Alfa 156) which lasted 120k miles!

Return them for a free set. Fit for purpose, reasonably durable, sale of goods blah blah blah.

Lovely idea but I can't see them going for it. And life is too short to be battling over a £40 pair of mats.

Fair enough. I only suggest it because it worked for my old man when a few years back with a new Disco. Full set of rubber matts was the wrong side of £100 as well.

In the "olden days" you'd get free mats, spare wheel, full tank of fuel, buffet and a kiss !

Hi

Spoke to Skoda customer services and they confirmed that mat DO NOT come as standard on the Octavia vRS.

Well they've been coming standard on them since the fl came out iirc and from others on here

All vRS have always come as standard with vRS embroidered carpet mats. Unless Skoda have stopped that in the last few weeks...

Mine was delivered with them on 16th Jan

I think another case of Skoda customer service not knowing what they are talking aboutemoticon-0145-shake.gif

Right, as I said earlier, Skoda customer service told me they were an option and did not come as standard.

However, I had already dropped an email to the dealer and challanged the fact that I was getting charged for mats prior to speaking to customer services. The dealership has now come back and confirmed that they do come as standard and has knocked the charge off my order (they have kept mats on but with a charge of £0)!!

Picked up my new FL vRS almost 3wks ago and mine came with front and rear mats - black textile mats with silver edging. The front mats clip into the mounts on the floor too, so they don't move around. Not the greatest of quality, but they do the job. The dealer didn't have a clue whether they came as standard or not, so I decided to wait and see rather than ordering any with the car.

Fitted with mats but no vrs logo on mine!!

Oh and its a 2010 FL Octy.

Well that told ME !

"The Mats you have ordered are the textile floor mats with VRS embroidery on as the they don’t come as standard. "

I must have a 4 letter word tattoed on my forehead.
