I was thinking of going the other way by myself (A19 Northalerton), but as there is a number of us going from this area, I might as well join the convoy. I'm glad you suggested meeting at Teesside Park as I wasn't sure how to get to Scotch Corner. We could discus meting times and exact places etc in the Sedbergh thread in the NE section, here.

Chris, have you/we decided on where in Sedbergh we are all going to meet up?

Oops, I forgot too look there, I always click on last page to look at this thread.

If you hadn't posted where, I was just about to suggest we meet in that car park anyway.

So we are meeting at The Red Lion and parking in Car Park Here

more like meeting in the carpark I think, don't think there was a plan to actually go to the red lion........ doesn't mean you can't I suppose!

I have started a discussion in the NE Thread!

I have been Goggling the Buttertubs Pass and found another car club organising a meet at the same day and having lunch at the Tan Hill Inn.

FFOC - Buttertubs Pass / Tan Hill run So it might a bit busy for lunch. Their ETA at Tan Hill is 12-12-30.

just have to make sure i have a massive breakfast at the farm then before the meet lol

Bloody FFOC lol (used to be a member when i had my old blue oval) ;)

Depends on what time everyone will be at the meeting point

Just Googled the route from Sedbergh to Tan Hill , 25.5 miles (39 minutes) so if we leave there 11.15 we will be there for 12.00 (fingers crossed)

We will be leaving Mainsgill Farm for 09.50 so we will be in Sedbergh 11.00 , as long as everyone gets to the meeting point for 11am we should be ok for 12.00 at Tan Hill

I've also looked on Google maps and saw the predicted time, however using Google Street view, I looked at the roads from Kirkby Steven to Tan Hill and they look very narrow and twisty, so I doubt we can average 60 mph over them (probably what Google calculated). I hate driving fast along narrow roads, especially ones I don't know, however as we are travelling in a convoy it might not be too bad, we may not have to worry about oncoming cars (well except the leader). The Ford lot are coming the other way to Tan Hill (from Buttertubs Pass), so unless they are very late we will only meet in the inn.

I just hope the Weather will be OK on Sunday.

I've always found it easier to follow than lead. Far easier to judge braking and corners when you're following.

Just a thought , rather than us from this end drive through Kirby Stephen to Sedbergh then back the same way , why dont the North East members meet the North West members in Kirby Stephen , then drive over to Tan Hill :thumbdown:

I don't think Chris was planning to go the same route from Sedbergh to Kirkby, but we would be going 3 sides of a triangle to and from. It's a good thought though about meeting at Kirkby. I'm still happy to travel to Sedbergh though.

yeah, part of the "designed" drive was from sedberg to tarn hill......

edit: but what the hell, this isn't a dictatorship! ;) if you wan to come from another direction to tarn hill at 12, I don't suppose there would be a problem .....
