I have tried not putting the hand-brake on so hard when I put the car " to bed " at night. This seems to have worked a bit , the groaning noise seems to be less when I reverse in the morning. I intend to sort this when it goes in for its first service - July 2005 ?? - to me its not an urgent repair.
