Fabia vRS questions

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Been followin this forum for a while now but have only just registered so a big hello to everyone.

Hopefully purchasing a fabia Vrs soon and was wondering if you lot could answer a few questions for me.

The CD autochanger is an option, I'm considering getting it as I like my music. Where abouts is it fitted int he car? Boot? Glove box?

What are the speakers like in the Vrs? Will they need upgrading and if so is it quite easy to get new ones fitted?

What type of keys do you get with the car? Are they the fold up ones with built in remote? Curious to see what type Skoda use, if they are the same as VW, audi ones ive seen.

Thanks for your input

The key is the flip up one with remote.

I *Think* the autochanger is stored under the passenger seat, but someone else will have to confirm that. There is a small cubby hole under there.

The speakers arent bad by any means, but the standard head unit is. Swapping from the standard head unit to a pioneer DEH77MP gave the standard speakers a new lease of life. They are still going to be replaced however.

Fitting speakers will be trickier that some cars, as you have to remove the inside door panels, and i think the front speakers are rivetted in.

Can't really see the point of upgrading the standard speakers, they are truly fantasic  , but do upgrade the headunit!! A sub will help also, if thats your thing

Didnt get the cd changer option but its defo under the passenger seat. Its so darn secret u keep ur money there........dang i spoke too loud there uh hum

The key, yes its exactly the same as the VWs not sure abt Audis (not seen a audi key yet)

Yep, Audi have the same key design as VW/Skoda. Just has a different logo on it

:P

Sit in a Fabia that has had them changed and al becomes clear (literally).

Ive been running the Pioneer 77MP on std speakers for sometime now, now blown 1 driver and 1 tweeter and I dont play it that loud.

Ok Thanks for the replies guys.

Looks like the headunit will need to be upgraded then!

If I get the cd changer but change the headunit, would the autochanger still work with the new head unit?

Woah.... you must be my almost-twin brother

i think its not worth the money for the changer.. spend the money on a decent head unit that plays mp3s (if your into that) ive got the deh77mp - the one that every other fabia driver copies me on :D and it makes the standard speakers sound great... but as ross says, can blow them (but i turn my vol up as loud as 50 sometimes) :)

welcome to Briskoda BTW

Thanks Neo, i'll have a look at that head unit.

Thanks to all who replied. :)

Does anyone have pictures of the DEH77MP fitted to their Fabia? Would be interested to see how it looks fitted.

Thanks, Steve
