Heated Washer Jets

Featured Replies

Today I was looking in my fuse box and noticed there was only one fuse in the 3rd column (F17-F22), this was fuse 20 for bulb failure warning. According to my Haynes the one below (fuse 21) is for heated washer jets and is missing with no connectors. Does this mean I don't have heated ones? Did later vRSs or other models (eg elegance) have this as standard or was it an option?

Also should the bulb warning light come on if a sidelight blows, mine did not and that's the reason why I looked at F20?

99% sure its a no :(

Heated washer jets were an option in places like Scandanavia. As was a diesel burning engine heater that keeps the car engine up to temperature even when it's not running.

I'm sure I read in one the brochures that the Fabia had heated jets. So why is there a slot allocated for the fuse? I have also seen a wiring diagram for it in a downloaded manual for an 04 Fabia, (not the Owners or Haynes manual).

Also any ideas on the sidelight problem, should the warning light come on if it blows?

For the Elegance, that had them I think. 99% sure at least.

And no, don't think it does on the sidelights are the currents etc are too small for it to register.

Nope sidelights are not part of the bulb failure system.

And there is a spare slot in the fusebox as it would be rather expensive to produce an individual fusebox for every variant of fabia

Owner's manual? I'm sure I've read about them somewhere (probably here, LOL), too ...

Thanks, I suppose it does not effect your night vision, it's only for other road users. I was changing my NS one and it flicked out of my fingers and went somewhere near the battery, never to be seen again. Still a new one was only £1. Tip for next time, use long nosed pliers to leaver the holder out as it's hard to do with your fingers.
