Your vRS is diesel powered and slow. The other driver's weren't trying. Etc. Etc.

strange how you quote 'beating', yet he never claimed to? :giggle:

Nice photies, although my eyes were drawn to the vxr8

claimed to what? he told me he gave it every thing the car had and couldnt keep up :wonder: not a short 100yd sprint it was over 40 mins of driveing from the 1st meet point to the 2nd not something alot of people would want to admit to but he did as much as it pained him to say it i beat him next time i will set up a video to keep you all happy :dull:

and the vxr8 is the daddy would love one but would have to be the bathurst S one mmmmmmmm V8 supercharger saying that though there no good on the twisty stuff straght line power he was haveing a hard time stopping the back end coming around he hasnt had it long so still getting used to it

Strange, how I read it perfectly by Si's last reply ;)

We arent saying you were quicker than ya mate in his VXR Astra tbh. I went past a Veyron once or twice infact... bloody road works ;)

nice pics

Come on T. Spark, Si Vxr's mate admitted to him that he couldn't keep up. Hence he didn't have the driving ability to use his VXR to beat the vRS. :giggle:

But, but.... but... oh ok then!

You just don't put the effort in anymore :D

Sorry, mate! I'll try harder next time :giggle:

Odd, I had trouble keeping up against Clio Sports in mine?

Still, meet looked fun :-)

Some fantastic roads and nice cars there! If only it wasnt so far away :(

A friend took me out in an ex police 3.2 gsi vectra the other day then I let him have a go in the Furby and it scared him! :giggle:

178bhp and 285 ft-lb think the ft-lb makes the difference pulled away lower speeds realy easy think top end he would have had me eventualy also my cars lighter emoticon-0140-rofl.gif nice to know that in real life driveing the furby has the edge v std astra vxr

What always puzzles me about these threads is I have a car which weighs well over 1500kg and is completely standard. It has about 200bhp and 295lb/ft of your torques. So why is it that it is faster than a remapped Furby with these above figures?? This fact can be testified by an owner or two on Briskoda too. Perhaps I am a brilliant driver? :D

For the record a 335 would leave me for dead in a straight line.

You're forgetting that the Fabia vRS is the fastest car in the world. Ever.

that'll be the power delivery; when it was only mapped my Cupra felt quicker but was roughly as quick as the 3.2 V6 GSI Vectra my brother was driving, but actually lost ground on gear changes. the Vectra has stupid long gearing

last night we found that the Ibiza is now quicker in a straight line than a (presumably standard) Corsa VXR

I’ve been on here long enough to know that your statement isn’t true. The fastest car in the world everer, is the 2.0 petrol Fabia emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif

Ah, sorry!

But the noobs all think the vRS is the fastest. They are clearly disillusioned!

Why? Did he try going round a corner?

Think you answerd your own question you have more power all round than us/me and as has been said the power delivery im sure will be alot different to mine maybe the extra weight in yours will allow you to get a better launch who knows at the end of the day i wasnt driveing with you i was driveing with him maybe one day we will meet you and i would be happy to run mine against yours.

I know my car isnt the fastest in the world there are many cars out there are faster than mine but on this occasion mine was quicker :p one thing though when i had my Meriva Vxr 1.6T which had 201.5bhp and 234ft-lb std ran the 1/4 mile in 16.001 sec at santa pod and every time i went for a drive with my mate who owned an Astra Vxr running stage 2 295bhp and 280ft-lb i beleave it was and no matter where we had a traffice light GP i would ALWAYS beet him of the line and stay infront to 40 mph granted when he got into 2nd it wouldnt take him long to pass me but bigger power doesnt mean an all round quicker car

I don't think the rwd thing counts, as a 330D is also rwd as is the 335 and these are the comparison cars in this discussion. Personally I think that often modified cars have great headline figures, but lack the full bodied shove that you get from an engine that was designed to be reasonably powerful from scratch. I say this having owned several heavily modified cars in my younger days. I should also add it cost an awful lot more to mod your car in those days too, my 130TC Abarth nearly bankrupted me :(

Agreed with the above, alot of these 'remap' power figures, lack real world driving, id rather have 10bhp less peak, and 10bhp more all across the rev range up until the peak. But that doesnt make headline figures.

Out of interest, you say your car is quicker than a mapped furby? At what speeds?

Pretty much all the way up to my top speed (check out other websites for that figure :D )

Fabia's must be alot slower than mine was with just a remap then ;)

Amanda are you driving the 123d M sport? B)

According to evo mag:

BMW 123d M Sport (5dr)

max bhp/rpm = 201/4400

weight = 1495kg

0 - 60 = 6.5sec

top speed = 148

If so I think there is every chance of spanking any mapped furby all day long

Will let ya off based on

A) its a diesel

B) I dont own a furby

Hehe

Dunno, I've had a do against a 123d M and there was nowt in it. I think the official 0-62 time for the 123M is 7.1. I think the difference is that the BMW could perform like that all day because it's just a better car, whereas I'd destroy my clutch and brakes after about 10 minutes :'(

That’s pretty much mine, except I opted to go for the SE spec with uprated wheels and seats. The suspension is sooo much more compliant/comfortable that I think it is better in the real world. The M Sport is a bit too bouncy on the Run Flat Tyres.
