NO WAY!

I know that place too lol,

If 2010 plate, who did 3,000 miles today?! :giggle:

It'll be a "put deposit down now to buy in 3 months after we've written the cost off as a demo car" jobbie :)

Do we take that as a 'Yes' or a 'No' then Ian ?

and at an average speed of about 136 MPH for 22.5 hours

Would i buggery , thats decentish porshe money , or rs4 or something similar.

+1 Porker or Audi for that money!

I reckon at those prices, we won't see many on the road at all. The R32s of old seemed quite pricey, but within the realms of acceptability. The new car is mindblowingly expensive. However, the reviews do say it's very good, but even so......

How much cheaper is it, than buying one of those new?

While it sounds blooming expensive for a second hand golf, it may save someone looking for one of those new, a few grand.

£36k for a 2.0 Golf?

How much more expensive more like, from the VW website, Golf R, from £30,090 to £31,980

Sorry for £35 it better have more than 300hp.

M3, M5, RS4, Noble N400, DB7

I mean you can buy a used Ferrari 360 for £35k.

Well, for all intents and purposes, its a new car. £36k is obscene though, there is plenty of fine machinery that would get my money before a bloody Golf at that money!

Can get B7 Audi RS4's for that money!

Cant you buy a house in the North for that :giggle:

You could just buy an S2 and have loads of change and a better car  or a Delta Integrale and an even better car.

S2 possibly... Lancia... I'm not so sure!

You could use the S2 every day without an issue, I doubt you would put up with the Lancia!

Good god Brimma how do you live with that browser!! :o

Doesn't surprise me tbh, i found it was similar when i was looking at getting a cupra K1. The stealers think that its a rare car and because there are so few and everyone wants one they can inflate their prices.. funnily enough all 4 of the k1's i inquired about were all still for sale 3/4 months later and not one had budged on price.

All of those useless toolbars, that do nothing but slow things down and reduce your viewable area!

Brisky will probably look better in it as well.

Nice car though :p

I'm not surprised at the price. It's a 30k basic car to start with and the demo will have been ordered up with a few nice options - nav, probably the nice Recarros etc :)

I ran through the configurator for an R with a mate the other week and came out with a similar figure once we'd put some 'reasonable' options on it :)

Would I buy one? No. It's a very capable car and more engaging to drive than the R32 to was, going on the reviews I've read so far. But when a well specced GTi is now up at the 25k+ mark, it's an inevitability that the R pricing was going to look like this. I suppose only time will tell how well it sells...

Many are also comparing a new car with many used ones so far - you could do that with a lot of new car options out there :)
