im going to the skoda dealer tomorrow to pick up my vrs

trading my car in etc and getting the rest on finance, now seriously what are the chances of me driving of in my much awaited vrs tomorrow?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but if that's the day you've arranged with the dealer then why wouldn't you be driving off in your new vRS?

Should be enjoying your new wheels

Unless you have a credit problem?

If everything is arranged for tomorrow then it should be all go in your VRS

ENJOY and watch the power if you are a newbie, you do not want to break it first day

National

Sorted your insurance out?

And shown insurance docs to dealer so they can tax it?

Somewhere between 0 and 100%........

If, as I suspect, you haven't done the deal yet, then it's possible, but unlikely.

Insurance isn't an issue anymore from a dealer as they have their own free 7-day insurance and you can get a cover-note e-mailed to the dealer so someone can pop down and pick up a RFL disc. Making sure you are happy with the car will be more difficult. Car dealers only seem to to rectify issues when they are actually pointed out them these days, and good luck getting anything sorted once you've taken it away. So any scratches, scrapes, stone chips, tiny dents or god forbid, mechanical issues, need to be sorted after you have paid a SMALL deposit on your credit card. And that could take a week if they need to order parts or ship it off to an off-site bodyshop. Incidentally, if it is going to a bodyshop, that's a good time to get the grille painted as a freebie if you're that way inclined.

Plus, buying a car in a hurry is a desperately bad idea. I recently traded in a car, it was raining (never view a car in the wet) and the dealer was in a rush with folks coming in to buy new cars for March 1st registration. We'd basically done our deal and he wanted to be back in the showroom flogging more metal. The dealer never even sat in it, let alone test drove it. and he missed at least two small dents, one badly kerbed alloy, a deep scratch on the back bumper that won't polish out and two stone chips in the windscreen that should have had him saying 'get that fixed on your insurance please'. As a result he listed no bodywork defects on the car at all and he even wrote 'excellent condition' on his appraisal form. Fair enough it had 4 new tyres on and was waxed to death so it had beading on it that Baker21 would be proud of, but he missed a lot of issues that other dealers had picked up on. And he was an experienced car dealer, so if you're eagerly running along to the dealer to get one in a hurry, prepare for problems afterwards.

right i missed out that ive not sorted any kind of deal aswell

was going to get one about 2 weeks ago but i couldnt get my own finance due to no credit history, therefore my dads doing the finace etc, with the insurance im with swift cover so i can simply log on at the dealership, change over and print my new cover note so that shouldnt be an issue, all i can think of is that they want to tidy it up and tell me to come back on sat :( hope not!

I think you're approaching this completely the wrong way, but anyway - good luck with it.

You should never rush into any purchase, let alone for a car - with finance attached. There's plenty of cars out there... don't simply buy the first one you see.

im not rushing into it mate, ive been had a look around different garages, the ones there are the best options in my area, like i said i nearlly got the car the other week but was knocked back on finance so im basically going back for the same car however ive been told they have got a few more in there now, so obv going to be looking at them also but im certainly not rushing into it

In my experiences dealers normally want a few days to sort things, give it a polish etc.

I've never just shown up on the day and taken it with me

OK good - just don't want you ended up with the wrong car

Have you considered a standard loan for the money required, not tied to the car?

Wardy poses a good point! My cars currently on a personal loan... better rate of interest then any dealer could offer me and NOT secured against the car. Had a car on finance before... if you read all the small print, they actually have the right to take the car away if they don't feel you're keeping it in good enough condition amongst other things.
