Crash! vRS Sandwich!

I think it will get written off pal. Mine has just been written off for very little damage. If you want it to be (as I did, didn't want a repaired car back) be extremely picky and make them aware of this, the bill will soon fly up. I have just bought mine back and having it delivered to a mates garage. The engine is going in my girlfriends MK1 Golf and I will break the rest

I could be spoilt for choice soon :D

Sad to hear. Glad you're OK though. Good luck getting a swift and hassle-free resolution

Karl, I've just been to see the car and get my mats and stuff out, and the front indicator has a crack across it, so probably ain't much good to ya. :-(

I've spent all day ringing insurance companies, and the other driver has admitted full liability and my insurance company is doing the repair (or write off as it may be).

Thankfully, I don't have to pay an excess, or lose my NCB... They even said they will pay off all outstanding finance, which is nice.

All we're waiting on now is the decision from the assessor.

I'm already trying to find somewhere to keep the car while I break it (It's apparently not allowed on the drive tho :dull: ).

I'll keep you all up to speed.

put it on the drive strip it takes about 2 days to full strip then get the shell collected and crushed

this is if the insurance let you buy it back asnot all insurance companies will let you. you have to push them for it back buddy.

Not a bad idea clive...

Just out of interest, has anyone ever bought a car back form churchill before? It's the same company as direct line..

UPDATE:

The car has been officially written off. I'm gutted!!

Anyway, I got back slightly more than what I paid for it, so that will do for me.

As for a new car, I have been seriously considering a 3 series beemer, but they are soooo expensive.

Just out of interest, I had a look at octavias, and have found what appears to be a 2002 minter with 40k miles, so gonna have a look tomorrow.

Also, on my travels, found a wrc version for sale too. It's a bit of a mess inside though. WRC vRS

dont like the wrc one with no graphics and prob a tad over priced if its got high miles

what did you get for yours????

can you keep it???

p.s i hope you didnt take there first offer

Got 6 grand for it, is it's in (well, was in) immaculate condition and has a full service history.

Only paid £5800 for it, so I've kind of made a profit, although the extra £200 will be soaked up by the finance I had on it.

what year and milage was it???

how much was the buy back figure??

If you are breaking it

I would'nt mind the water expansion bottle, and drivers door panel
