Good news -- It's gone down to £120.

£125? How strange, do you have a later model with higher CO2 emissions?

Hum i don't know about the emissions ( i can check when i get home) but mine is a later model yes its a 56-plate so quite possibly then?! :wonder:

mines an 06. I'd have thought that the later models would have less emissions hence the famous stutter.

The cost of vehicle tax for cars, motorcycles, light goods vehicles and trade licences

Calculate the cost of vehicle tax for your vehicle using the tables below. The tables contain the rates of vehicle tax for the different tax classes, together with tax class (TC) codes to distinguish them.

Cars registered on or after 1 March 2001 (based on fuel type and CO2 emissions)

The rates shown only apply to cars that have been type approved in category M1 and registered on the basis of CO2 emissions measured in grams per kilometre (g/km) driven. These details are shown on the registration certificate (V5C).

From 1 May 2009, Vehicle tax rates for cars registered on or after 1 March 2001 are split into 13 bands depending on CO2 emissions. The amount you'll pay depends on which band your car is in. The lower a car’s emissions, the lower the vehicle tax payable on it.

These bands and rates apply to all tax discs bought from 1 May 2009 onwards.

From the DVLA site. Seems I am in group D or E , both £120.

I paid £125 for mine in January and it was in Band F due to the emissions being 146g/km.

Which would still make it £125?!

Did mine and my dad's online today. Both £120. Mine is a pd100 with 132g/km and my dad's is 07 vrs with 140g/km. :)

Maybe the newer BLT engine is cleaner then? Mine is 2005 ASZ engine and the V5 says emissions of 146g/km.

Just checked my renewal notice and it is listed as 138G/Km. which makes it band "E" . Seems to be some inconsistances with the DVLA listings, but don't tell anyone.

I've checked my current tax disc which runs out at the end of March 2010 and I paid £120. Who come it's gone up £5 from last year. Thought road tax was coming down.

And i reckon your Super Soot Edition must spit more than standard soot into the atmosphere anyhow! :p

mine's an 07 and yearly tax (due april 1st) is £120

I think it went down last year from £125 to £120 (apparently the vRS has low emissions!). It's on it's way back up again this year (to £125). It depends when 'this year' is - I think it's probably April?

Good job only CO2 is the deciding factor in road tax ain't it.

Now that makes sense. Maybe this year starts in the new "Tax Year" which is the 1st. week in April.

My Mum posted about this a while ago, She has a MY56 BLT engine £5 more than my MY07 which is also a BLT engine, think mines 140 and Mums 143 gramm. After the Budget Road Tax through the roof and Diesel £1000 a Gallon, to pay for the Pot Holes, becuse Road Tax has never been used for what it says on the Tin. Vote for the next PM and get Screwed

Yeah i checked last night my 56-Plate is 146g/km which equals to being £125 (Band G) and mine is due on the 31st March :dull: ah well its just two less pints down the pub lol :giggle:

Dave

Yep, there are 3 different CO2 outputs registered against the vRS IIRC. Not sure why there's two different outputs for the same ASZ engine; not sure if the revision to the gearbox ratios in March 04 is the reason?

The irony being that the early ones emit less than the Euro4 compliant BLT engined ones with the stutter!

Mine has just come through....£125.

I think the engine washer thing makes a difference

Ben

53 reg £110 from april and its due in april :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:B)
