New VRS Here

Featured Replies

Forget the idea of the small engine and look at the tech:This is a great little engine with the supercharger working up to 2500 rpm then the turbo and charger together up to 3500rpm and then turbo only from 3500 to redline. The compressor is activated and de-activated by a coupling on the waterpump pulley. The engine won a world engine award last year and has been widely praised for its performance and economy. Add a fast changing DSG and I may be very tempted. Will have to drive it fist though!

I just could drive a sports model bearing a 1.4 badge on the back! Why oh why cant we have one of the Audi RS engines such as the 2.7 turbo that would be so much fun :)

Agree on the price issue though without a doubt 5k more than the oringinal vRS wow!

Is it going to be £17 grand :o ?? The Ibza Cupra is £16.5K and Autocar said it should be less than £15K thus sealing the Skoda as the value car against it's SEAT brother and the VW Polo. I can't see the Fabia beeing more than the SEAT as that has the later floorpan???

Wouldn't be interested in this myself. I think the big attraction of the original vRS was that it was a diesel only, and i believe the only so called hot hatch to be diesel only.

In real world driving, ie, overtaking, hillclimbing, 3rd/4th gear acceleration, it was as quick as most other cars on the road and still did 50mpg. It also has one of the best clutch/gearchange combinations i have ever used and i think the DSG only will lose a lot of customers.

I think it looks ok. The interior is a bit grey, but does look better put together than the mk1. Not sure on the baby sick green though.

The estate just looks like a deformed testicle.

'there's no replacement for displacement'

The wheels just do not look right on this model UGLY

Think we can all say the mk 1 vRS will still hold there value. That thing looks like a slightly pimped up old man's car, great engine but nothing sporty about the looks.

It's just as a much a Fabia vRS as the original... Just a shame the starting point was too cutesy. I wouldn't say no to a test drive though.. and maybe a used Combi when at £6-7k ;)

I find it odd the Combi version isn't liked by many, I'd prefer it... but then, I'm a silly fan boy of Estates.

If you like the package and can cope with three doors a SEAT Ibiza Cupra is £16k. Think too that the estate is a better looking car but not a big fan of the MK 2. Also why no manual?

I know you'll have all seen it before, but..

Maybe the arch extensions will become available, the mk1 had some (though completely pointless).

I don't really mind it not being any fatter.. TBH, I didn't expect it to be.

Find it funny this cars already stolen the march on a modded mk2 vRS! Black lights and de-chromed grille!
