Telephone pairing problems

Featured Replies

This week I bought a new superb, love it to drive and getting used to the toys.

Being in business I need the phone to work. I have a Blackberry Pearl.

I can get to the point of the phone being recognised and then asked on the phone to enter a number...what I don't get from the car is the number to enter. Has anyone got any ideas or managed to get their Pearl/superb 2 working?

Hope someone has the answer!

Assuming you want the phone to pair with the columbus..?

If so, you're out of luck..the pearl doesn't have RSAP. I had the very same problem when I got my superb and am now using a curve.

There are many other postings on the pairing topic.

Cheers

Simon

Is it even possible to get GSM II in Superb or is it GSM III Premium only for Superb?

When I was ordering I could not get GSM II, which was a little strange, as there was a price tag for it.

I have a Blackberry 8310 and as I'm reading on net, I wont be able to connect it ... :(

I know in Ireland when you order a superb with a bolero you get GSM 2 Prep as standard, You get GSM 3 with the columbus though

Are you sure GSM III comes with Columbus in Ireland? Just got my superb Tuesday and my iPhone 3g works a dream with it and I understood it wouldn't work with GSM III. I thought it was GSM II I had. The phone just needed me to put in 1234 as instructed in the manual.

Hiya Darragh, Thts what i had been told, But, When i was last in a dealer i saw a person pairing an iphone fully with a columbus with no issues, So you may be right!

Really hope you guy's are correct - i Love my iPgone 3gs, and wont (almost cant, as it's all synced with MobileMe for business use) be without it.

I did hear or read somewhere, that Skoda / VAG had made all new (since the launch of Estate / Combi model) Columbus units work with iPhone. - got a few weeks to wait before i can try it out tho... but hope it does!

Al.

I think in ireland you get GSM2, the UK is GSM3 along with most of europe. You can tell easily, to pair a phone with GSM3 you need to enter 16 digits, the GSM2 is only 4 digits.

Ok. So it must be GSMII in Ireland since mine asked only for 4 digits. I think this was stated in some other thread on the forum anyway.

Long while since I last paired but I recall 4 groups of 4 numbers needed to connect (am in UK too). I recall when ordering the car i queried GSM2 or 3 and was told

that GSM2 not available in uk. System works a treat - especially voice dialling
