is this a bigger turbo?

Featured Replies

it a straight fit as it onlyy the k04-001 you will need to change the tip but thats it will that turbo imho not worth it as it gets the same power as the k03s.

its the k04-022 that need all the extra's

p.s you would need to alter your mapping

p.s.s for that price are you sure its not a copy???

Whats a copie??????? :giggle:

It's a CCC and i will guarantee that it WILL break.

At £275 for a new turbo, I'm gonna presume it's made from cheese! Pretty brave (stupid) for a UK company to be selling a copied turbo, which is marketed using Borg Warner's product name.

As Jay said, it will break. Very quickly!

thank you to everyone who replied, what would be the best turbo to put on for big power? i have a apex-i avcr controller to go on, a custom made cat back exhahust and then in for a remap but need a bigger turbo first.

you have a custom cat back lol what about the most important part the down pipe ???

you need to do a bit of research i think before you throw a big turbo on as its not as simple as you think.

to go big turbo you will have to change these

turbo

oil water lines

mannifold

downpipe

injectors maf

frontmount

fuel pump

tip pipework

re mapping

poss bottom end i.e rods if going above 300bhp

you will be looking at a good few grand minimum

p.s also if you havent already done them suspension and brakes need upgrading.

p.s whats your car got on it now???

the standard engine can hold up to 350 bhp, my mate had a golf turbo i have all his engine parts as he smashed his car, dont want to be changing anything in the exhaust department ie down pipe or cat because it throws up the eml, i jus need this car for a few month months till rc development complete my pulsar gtir, and these vrs are not as quick people make them out to be

I'd just trust Westallc if I were you! He's trying to help you.....

Changing the standard downpipe and cat, for a free flowing larger diameter downpipe and sports cat will not throw up a CEL. De-catting it will, but this can be mapped out.

I'm also not sure that the standard AUQ internals will last long with 350bhp. That's almost twice the intended power output. Go figure!

Why not just leave the vRS alone, and just save the cash for when you get the Datsun Sunny back!

The standard internals can and will handle over 300bhp but anywhere over 300ft/lbs torque you are taking a gamble as to which point they will go pop. TaviaRS and Delcac (as he used to be known) both broke con-rods / bottom end bolts on their VRS's running somewhere between 300 and 350bhp.

It's that company again

Someone was asking about them the other day

Looks like a load of tat too me

Toyo Sport weren't they called? They have popped up a few times recently selling cheap intercooler kits, CAI kits and now turbos.

Surely Toyo tyres own the rights to that name too?

why try and slap a bigger turbo etc onto a vrs then if you have a pulsar thats going to be ready in a couple of months seems pointless to me!!!!!!

if you change to a different turbo you would have no choice but to change the downpipe would you not???

maybe you should speak to the company that are meant to be doing your pulsar surely they would be able to help you??

its a family car so it is fairly quick for what it is 1.8cc also by putting a big turbo on a car doesnt mean it makes it quick go on a track and im sure a well setup k03 k04 would make mince meat out of a big turbo car that hasnt had the supporting mods done like suspension etc etc

my car is a ex plod car so its been de-tuned 20bhp less then standard, the car is to slow for me so im thinking of jus experimenting with it till my pulsar is ready, if i blow the engine it blows its only a skoda at the end of the day lmao.

have you actually done anything to the car i.e suspension or any mods that will actually help it manage the road better.... or are you another i want 400 bhp but can only use 200 of them as you dont understand how to make a car go fast?????

p.s when did they start de tuning the plod cars then???

lol but its true compare to 4x4 turbo these front wheel drive cars aint that fast. and yes the ex police cars are de tuned before they are sold on. and im not gona sit here and lie just to make friends everyone is entitled to their own opinions

and yes the ex police cars are de tuned before they are sold on.

Enlighten me further.

Thats a new one on me mate

really de tuned who told you this ???? never heard of this before and i know a few people with ex police cars.....!!!

pretty sure i read somewhere bout ex police cars being detuned, can't think why, surely cop car would have been mapped to keep up with big boys.

Our local Mk1 estates had no remaps, but apparently had stronger suspension to cope with all the extra stuff they carry in the boot. I heard from one of the traffic officers that when they got the Mk2s they sold one of their VRS's to a colleague and it RR'd at only 170bhp but just assumed this was down to it being thrashed for 100k of its working life.
