YETI ADVENTURE WALES.

Featured Replies

We need to get SUK to organise a day out at a Pay and Play event! They've never had a proper soft roader like the Yeti so have no idea about Pay and Play events I'm sure. Someone needs to tell them... and gently nudge them to organise something.

Ultra Driving Adventure have a Pay & Play day at their Berwyn Mountain site nr Llangollen in North Wales this Sat. 24th... not sure how many places left etc...Has anyone been on this site or with them on any other adventures? I think it looks interesting and suitable for us with our yetis

"This site is situated on a 2,500 ft mountain and consists of over 3,000 acres within some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. It is unique in that you can drive literally off the beaten track; you don’t have to stay on tracks, any passable terrain can be negotiated. Drive up and down mountains, across fields, through woods, ford through stream crossings or stay on the tracks and follow old drovers routes. The site is ideal for a family day out, perhaps with a picnic. The site is so big that you will want to return, as you won't be able to explore it all in a day

Whatever your off roading preference there is something for everyone at this site, e.g. green laning, driving up and down steep hills, deep rutted tracks, or enjoying the scenery. It is non- –damaging to standard 4x4 vehicles and we have qualified DSA driving instructors on hand - ideal for inexperienced off road drivers. However, if you are more experienced, the site does also provide some challenges. For example, one of the tracks is an old drovers route that passes through some difficult boggy, terrain. The site has hospitality building that includes a refreshment area and toilets.

Bring your own vehicle days on this site."

Wow! Now that sounds amazing!

If ever the SMOC decide to do a group get together we need to meet at a place like this! I'm sure there will be areas for 2x4 vehicles to go (?) and if not the 2x4 owners can all get into the 4x4 ones as passengers.

Was out yesterday taking photos of some crows in their nests (don't ask) and found that when the tail-gate was opened up, i could "hide" under it and stand upright too. This is brilliant, as at six foot 2 i am used to stooping. i could stand and assemble tripods in complete comfort.

It means that Lady Pee could quaff her Pimms and remain dry, should it rain on our adventure!

Another little Brownie point for the YETI I think.

Roll on June!

So who is bringing the Pimms for the picnic?

James,

from experience you will need a well prepared vehicle to do Strata now, parts of it are badly cut-up!!

That's sad, it looks awesome on all the videos. I've got a Landcruiser 80 4.5 it's standard not lifted at all and no snorkel, only thing I've done to it is put some BFGoodrich All Terrains on it, I have got front, center and rear locking diffs. Reckon it'll make it? From the videos it doesn't look to bad as long as the rivers aren't raging, the bombhole looks tricky but someone mentioned on another forum that you can go around it if you don't want to chance it?

So who is bringing the Pimms for the picnic?

Happy to bring the Pimms B)

How does everyone like it...and Freshacre don't say neat!! :giggle:

Cucumber, strawberries and mint ok for all?

Lady P, without the cucumber is fine by me!!

James, if you have another vehicle then you should be alright, as long as it hasn't rained too much. Yes you can get around the Bomb Hole.

I shall be up dating the list in the week.

Would love to join the fun but sadly won't be able owing to that four lettered thing...........have a great day

Sounds great. Wish I could come but its a bit far from Scotland.

Have a great time!

Much as I'd love to attend this; a five + hour drive either way is going to rule it out for us unfotunately. I hope you all have a great time.

Sorry, but we won't now be able to make it as we have other commitments which would rule out the night stop we would need. I hope you all have a good day and hopefully we can meet up sometime, maybe a pub lunch somewhere in the middle of the country?
