is it recomended to drill out an ignition barrel?

Featured Replies

a mate of mine lost the keys to his shed of a vectra,i drilled out the door lock and replace it with a handle and lock from the local scrappy,we also have the ignition barrel from the same car to change, but as we do not have the key we can't line the barrel up to remove it correctly,is it wise to drill it out the same way as i did with the doorlock? or is there another super sneaky way of doing it? and yes i know i should refuse to work on a vauxhaul shed

come on peeps there must be someone here with a youth more misspent than mine

Once you have swapped the barrel, however you do it you are going to need to code the keys to the ECU for the immobiliser, hopefully the Vectra does not need a master key otherwise you maybe stuffed.

It there not a couple of shear bolts you can cut a groove in and screw out?
