Some anus has managed to scratch my car either maliciously or by accident, i wish i knew which of these it was and where it happened but that is redundant now. Just noticed it this morning, so im not quite sure when it happened, could have been anytime since Friday as it wasnt there when i washed it on Friday evening, i have to park my car on the street unfortunately, though it could have occured in a car park.

The scratch is on the passenger side across the upper front wing and front door, about 20 inches in length, with about 6 inches on the door. Luckily most of it doesnt look to deep, with only a couple of spots going down to the metal. Im furious and gutted, i try to look after my car and then this happens, im sure im by far the only one though.

Looking at the pictures (you wouldnt believe i only cleaned it Friday, bloomin construction sites) how much do you guys think this might cost to get repaired? I hope it doesnt warrant a full panel respray, would a decent bodyshop be able to do a local repair/respray? Im taking it down to a place i have visited before with a previous car this afternoon to get it at looked at and get a quote for the repair.

The ******s ,a local mobile smart repair might do the trick, £120? it would be about double that anywhere else<2 panels> ,but hopefully most could polish out. I am furious and it is not my car

Chips away maybe able to sort it without to much trouble, but first give it a good going over with some decent polish and try and remove as much as you can and you should get an idea of how much needs to be repainted.

Tried two places so far, one said £150 for local repair, respray, blending then laqeuring the whole panel for both. This first one was recommended by a guy at work, several colleagues have seen his result and were very impressed. The place i have used before said £305.50, expensive but again they do good work. Trying a couple more places after work, rang chips away, he's coming tomorrow to look but says it might be more than he can handle (as he is mobile) if the whole panel needs doing.

Good tip Mannyo, now ive calmed down a bit i'll give it a good wash again tonight and have ago with the Autoglym SRP.

Don't use SRP as that will mask it. Go and try some Maguires scratch X 2.0 or a light polish without fillers.

That way if the damage goes away, then you know it is gone for good not filled.

Gutted for you, would be furious if it was my car. I know some F****r scratched my dads car down both sides along all three panel right down to the metal which would require a full body respray. Hopefully they should be able to just touch it up and blend in but its still £150 you shouldn't have to spend. Good job you don't know who does these things or I'd be tempted to put scratches down them.

I know that it will prob be vetted by the cops but anyone who does this on purpose should be shot!

cant see that being done by accident. Had my fabia done 2 weeks ago which I was not happy about, got the worse of it out with polish/wax. Friend has her done 3 days after gettin it she was not happy at all.
