Just for overall roundness not anything super specific

Has to be capable of cheese toasties.

I recommend the Breville X2000 Photo with optional jam butty mode.

Two/Formats ;)

Lexmark couldn't make a proper toaster, let alone a printer...

Epson every time.

Good print quality , and most importantly , cheap compatible cartridges for day to day use.

I.m currently looking to replace my Epson Stylus C70 printer as it is knackered..

I've done a lot of reading of reviews and the make that comes out more than others as an good/excellent printer is the Canon...

My Epson has been troublsome.. Now the yellow will not print at all and the

Cyan leaves lines across the paper.. I've tried cleaning and tried following the rest of the Epson guide to cure this but the only thing is the inside of the printer looks like someone has thrown black ink aground....

Given that to replace all th 4 inks in this printer will cost around

Epson.

- Some models (C70 etc) use pigment-based inks instead of dye-based ones; less fade.

- Cheap(ish) replacement cartridges.

- Open-source drivers readily available for non-Microsoft OS's.

Epson stylus C64 here. OK now i've grasped the basics on how to use it, but it don't half use the ink.

Thought I'd be a minge bag and put it onto black only, then I realised that the black cartridges are the dearest.

Going to get one of those laser printy things soon. believe they are much more economical to use.

Laser is more economical, but toner cartridges for them can easily cost about

I buy the re-charged /cycled ones Rob.

Weren't Tesco selling a cheap printer recently that cost less as a complete package (printer, ink and all the rest) than the replacement cartridges? ;)

Not so expensive now - bought a Konica Magicolor 2300W for the office last week -

I guess like most things there are good and bad models from most manufacturers. I have had poor results from an Epson and excellent from a Lexmark. I also have in the past found Canon to be inferior to equivalent HPs, yet others praise them.

I think I will give the canon another look due to the low cost of the cartridges compared with either Lexmark, HP or Epson. I like the Lexmark but it is dear to run and third party cartridges are harder to get and still dearer.
