Poor quality OE mats

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have seen a couple of other posts in the Octavia forums about the quality of the OE mats. My Superb came with mats - part number DCA 800 101 to be exact, which are the cheaper of the two carpet mats (polypropylene) offered.

They are very thin though, and have a definate crease where the mat goes up the footwell under the brake and clutch and keeps getting ruffled up under my feet.

Does anybody have the more expensive carpet mats DCA 800 103 (polyamide)? Are they thicker and more robust?

Many thanks,

Justin.

My mats have got holes in on the edge under the seat and clip onto mountings in the main carpet. Mine dont move around at all, not sure on the part number but they are quiet thick.

Hi,

I have the same problem and to FIX it easy

Put double tape under the carpet where is the pedals and problems gone. :giggle:

I too have the more expensive mats which clip into place and don't move. After 12 months they are still in reasonable condition.

When I took delivery of the car, the dealer included OEM rubber mats. I found that my heel caught in the cellular structure when moving my foot from accellerator to brake, and thus was a safety hazard. For the time being, I have kept the rubber mats in the back in preference to the textile mats since they are more serviceable with kids.
