Rear Washer

Featured Replies

My rear washer has gone and stopped working, obviously the feeder pipe has disconnected some where.

When I try and use the rear washer water can be seen coming from the engine bay, but i cannot for the life of me locate where it has come disconnected.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It's by the bulkhead on the passenger side I think.

It happened to me a few times and in the end a small dab of superglue was used.

PITA though.

It has come off my Octavia twice. Both time within the hatchback itself.

I have to take the trim from off the inside of the boot lid to put it back on the wash/wipe assembly

Andy is spot on. Have a look down by the back of the air filter on the passenger side. Get someone to squirt it while you look down there and all will become clear.

Had this on my old 16v, but not (touch wood) on the vRS. Is a very easy fix. I put it back on and tied a little cable tie round it. Never bothered me after that.

it tends to come off in cold weather - the pipe freezes up, and then when you try to pump water through, it pops open the pipe as a safety feature. Apparantly I've heard that this is supposed to happen. It happened in my Fabia when I first got it.. I try not to use the washer on a cold morning..

Regards,

its not happened in my vrs hearse but I had a golf estate that it did several times!

the pipe run through the headlining and broke just before it went into the tailgate, when you operated it the water came through the headlining :(

the other place was in the tailgate where the connection onto the jet failed. The dealer said they couldn't repair it with a hose clip as suggested and replace the whole assembly under warranty  when a simple clip would have done the job

Were are lucky with he Octavia in that the rear washer pipe doesnt run through the head lining, it runs the same as the Audi A3, along the floor.

This has happened to my car and also on my old Polo. On the Polo it was easy to remove the washer bottle and pop the pipe back on. On my 2.0 Fabia it doesn't look very easy to access the bottom of the washer bottle.

How do I access this pipe?.
