Hi,

I got a quote of

THIS WILL MAKE U SICK! 19 one years ncb no accidents, claims or convictions and to be used for work 2450 (but thats the first quote)

For a 21 year old (last year) I was quoted

Believe it or not, the Octy RS is the cheapest car I have ever insured! My renewal was €622 fully comp, driver only, 34 tear old with full NCB. I found that some companies have not loaded the premium, whilst others have. Worth shopping around....

Just under 300 notes for me :D Even with the mods (magic tree air freshener and nodding dog) declared.

Suppose it's either

a) I'm an old git with a good record

B) It's not a fast, sporty, performance model

c) Combination of the 2

:D

Furby vRS, 30 years old, living in a nice area, with the bird as a named driver, but with a carp postcode, after and accident where I had to claim on my own insurance because the other person wasn't insured, down to 1 years NCB -

Well i'm 30,have full no claims have a modified policy power upto 250bhp and any other mods with my 26yr old brother on it and i'm paying

**** me looking though all the prices u guys are paying for insurence im glad i don't have to pay insurence on my ocy vrs cos i don't think i could afford it and im 21 with no clams as well just glad the nhs are paying it as a company car im lucky i have one i think!!!!!!

vrs as a company car!!! the company car tax must be the same price as a small town!!!

47, 2 years NCB but a clean record, not the best postcode, paying just over

28,Insured and spouse policy,8 yrs NCB no convictions, reasonable postcode not garaged at night(driveway)

na the company car tax was cheeper than a mazda ts2 thats why i got one think it came out as 30 pounds a month tax and the ts2 was 50

Class 1 Business use, Me & Wife, 7 years NCB,

octy rs, class1 business, 30yrs, 1 yr ncd, 10 points (ahem), mediocre postcode, ridiculous occupation, 1400 squids! that took alot of shopping around! lucky the boss pays it!

You'd be suprised...althought the emissions on my Octy vRS are higher the very low list price keeps the tax down!

I've had a primera tdi and a golf Pd estate and the vRS works about the same as these....and I know which I prefer :D

Mind you the insurance is a bit steep though  full business use inc carraige of samples and any driver isn't cheap for group 16

I went to Elephant.co.uk for mine, quote them 28,000 miles a year!

Firstly I should say I'm 45 with a clean licience and record and will be shopping around for insurance shortly on my standard Fabia vRS.

Tried to get my gal onto the policy last summer but current company was not keen on her one 'no fault' accident two years previously. Therefore I did some searching with a view to cancelling and going elsewhere but the figures didn't seem to make sense at the time.

However, I did get a fully comprehensive quote for the car with her (36) as additional driver from Tesco online at

Thanks for the tip Chris.

I haven't got any fixed plans, was thinking maybe the front suspension brace and perhaps lowering the suspension by about 1" all round (a knowledgeable dealer recommended this recently).

Then I'd be looking to push the engine performance up toward the 150bhp spec of the VW group cars that deliver this level of output from the 1.9Tdi PD (i.e. the Cupra & Bora).

Any advice greatfully received.
