Rear doors not locking

Featured Replies

Was at Asda today with the mrs and as she was driving she locked the car, but she locked it before I'd closed the door from letting her wee boy out which is fine as it locks the doors anyways then beeps to say it's locked and alarms on. So she thinks she's done something wrong so to re assure her I open the door again which as I said would usually be locked, but nope this time it opened and the alarm went off!

So reset and re locked it tried again same story on both doors, drivers door and boot lock. Never checked passengers door but I assume that would be locked too leaving my back doors still unlocked!

Only changes to the car is I had the double locking turned off by someone on here, I am in no way blaming them btw! And my car has been remapped again which I know would never adjust the locking settings.

So that leaves the door motor really, went to the local skoda and vw garages and neither can do anything till next week! :(

Can't disconnect my battery cos I've no tools at my girlfriends house as my skoda mechanic friend said to try it as it usually brings it back to life for a bit. Worst still I'm going on holiday tomorrow so it means I need to leave the car where we're staying as I need the car to go away!

It never rains but it pours with my damned fabia :(

Clutch, bushes, my dials ****ing up and now this. When will it not cost me money!?

Cause you havent named her :)

tried locking it with key in the lock?

short term solution - push the pin down and close la door

The back doors don't have pins on them lol

The key in the lock in the same motor that i suspect is knackered :(

They have child locks, small black plastic slider beside the lock mech.

Yup I have two kids so the child locks are on but as said the rear doors can be opened from the outside! :(

Pull the fuse for the central locking for 10 minutes with all doors unlocked. Should be the same as disconnecting the battery.

I had an intermittent issue with the passenger side rear door locking only when It wanted to. Probably a different thing as both of yours are refusing to, but It seems to of been caused by water getting onto the loom by the door hinges under the rubber boot. I went mental and covered the entire boot and connectors in dielectric silicone grease and has been okay for the last 6-12 months.

happened kind of the same way, or at least I first noticed it then when the missus had the one door open, i locked it then closed the door it but it remained unlocked...

I'll try the fuse mate cheers :)

I'm just not amused at all! Blinking cars gonna give me a breakdown lol

We have a similar problem with our locks on my mums car.

When you operate the remote the drivers door lock does not work. However it sounds like the motor is trying to and occasionally it does work. It locks OK with the key in the lock.

I have squirted it with oil (WD-40) without success. Any suggestions?

Mines was sorted via vagcom. Only thing I can think of for you is you might need a new motor
