Not as much as I want to hear Webbers emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Chuffed to fook the boxhead took out himself and the convict to allow Lewis & Jenson to pass

Was a good race and I was sure we were going to have a repeat with Lewis & Jenson when they were scrapping.

Good pressure though from Hamilton

That was a bit of a carp interview with Vettel.

He didn't want to admit he was at fault did he

LOL

Loving the way Webber was showing Lewis what happened while Button was speaking.:giggle:

Too right - he was completely in the wrong - not quite sure what Eddie Jordan's on about when he said "It's not as clear cut as that"

Couldn't be more clear cut

LOL

I was just going to say that

At least Webber had the balls to say it was Vettels fault.

Why the hell cant the boxhead just say "yeah I fooked up" :dull:

Christian Horner's lost for words too

Hope he gives Vettel a severe b@llocking

That was brilliant, Webbers left hand crashing into his right was a big giveaway :giggle:

When it first happened I thought something had broken on Vettels car for it to turn right like it did then when they showed the in car from webbers car you could see that the steering wheel remained straight, until Vettel hit him. There appeared to be plenty of track to Vettels left, so how he thinks Webber was in the wrong is beyond me.

I think he was leaning on Webber to move over and let him through and got it totally wrong.

It played into McLarens hands today and probably for the rest of the season, because if Vettel doesn't aplogise to Webber there will be no team spirit and a good chance of the two swapping paint again.

Meanwhile back at McLaren a good clean fight with a slight touch of wheels.

I think he was leaning on Webber to move over and let him through and got it totally wrong.

Hang on a mo....Webber's line didn't deviate either did it when Vettel was coming towards him. There was also the stuff on the forum afterwards about engines being turned up and down - Webber's out of contract at the end of the year so it would make sense that Horner wants Vettel as the blue eyed boy and not Webber . Horner isn't going to want to have to keep Webber if he's world champ is he if we wants rid already ? There's more to the McLaren boys too re the fuel situation. The telly suggested that Jenson managed his fuel better whereas Lewis didn't so I'm thinking McLaren were hoping that Jenson would win it and not Lewis. There was definitely something going on at the podium celebrations. Ted Kravitz was told to go away and do some digging at Red Bull and that's going to be interesting.

Paul007, Webbers' line did not change and why should it? It is the responsibility of the driver overtaking to pass cleanly, once he is in front for the corner the driver being passed should give enough room. In this incident Vettel had not passed Webber and had not arrived at the corner, he just turned into Webber.

As for the engines being turned up and down, go back to 1986 - 87 with Mansell and Piquet at Williams for the same story. Piquet was the Honda blue eyed boy and Mansell got second best, it upset Piquet a bit when Mansell used to beat him. :giggle:

I think he might have taken avoiding action....you would if a car was coming towards you. As for the performance thing, that's always happening. Each team driver thinks they are the no 1 and gets upset too easily. We'll find out what the story is next race no doubt.

I've just seen the Christian Horner interview. Horner reckons the collision was caused by Webber not giving Vettel enough room!

So I assume he is really saying that Vettel is the number one driver and Webber will have to play second fiddle for the rest of the season.

There is also speculation that Vettel engine either got turned up or Webbers turn down... hmm! tasty drama!

(Red button on BBC or Forum on Iplayer).

Hence why its not SO clear cut.

  • 1 month later...

Just returned from holiday and have just watched a recording of the British GP.

Well done Mark Webber for winning, but what was more interesting were the events of the Saturday when the new improved front wing was taken from Webbers' car and put onto Vettels' car after his new wing was damaged. Webber was clearly pi55ed off by this as since the incident in Turkey Christian Horner has stated that the drivers have equal status in the team, this I doubted and the changing of the wing shows that Vettel is the blue eyed boy.

So it was even better at the start when Vettel cut his rear tyre on Hamiltons front wing after trying to squeeze Webber into the wall. I thought Horner told his drivers to give each other some room, perhaps Vettel didn't hear that bit.

Does anyone else out there in Briskoda land think that Webbers getting an equal deal in the Red Bull team?

I'm guessing you missed the bit about half a corner later where Webber deliberately ran Vettel off the track, or does that "not count" because Vettel is German?

I just loved Weber's comment at end of race "not bad for a number 2 driver".

Yes I did see the incident through Copse corner, but if Vettel decided to stay on the outside through the corner there was only one place he was going and that was off the track. I work with two German companies and I am the UK agent for one of them so I have no problem with Germans. My problem with Vettel is that although he is a good driver he didn't have the guts to say he was wrong in Turkey. In fact he put all the blame on Webber. Red Bull are a good team with a good car and should be way out in front of the drivers and team championships. Out of the 10 races so far Vettel has 5 poles and won 2, Webber has had 3 poles and won 3. If Vettel wins a race Christain Horner looks delighted, if Webber wins he looks slightly happy.

Perhaps this thread should be re-titled "Stefano Domenicalli - what were you thinking about" after today's race.

I think he was thinking right.

Alonso can run the other 4 for the title. Massa cant. 99% of people would of made the same call in stefanos position (even EJ the plonker). Its easy to sit and watch a race and complain coz the likeable guy got a raw deal!

I think its all a bit ott tbh
