Anti whiplash seats

Featured Replies

Only recently found this site, most interesting and driving my wife mad when I read it every night.............! Result ! Getting closer to ordering a Superb......but one question remains unanswered, does it have whiplash reducing seats / headrests etc., tried asking Skoda UK by email but they chose to ignore the question.

Yes is the answer. I have the official Skoda description here.

My understanding is that is wasn't on the 2009 model which was used for the EuroNCAP rating, but when I test drove the Superb Saturday 5 June, I was told it was equivelent to the Toyota, plus the driver protection is very similar based on the NCAP test results, so placed the order and they are taking my 1999 Avensis 1.8 GS on their swappage option.

Like the name :p , I've had a Toyota 10 years, great car but dealer customer service is dire! Dad's had 3 Fabias in that time with excellent customer service so gone with his local dealer

OK brilliant thanks for response, I'm now at the point where only the badge is lacking - head says go for it heart says oh it's a skoda badge what will the neighbours think ! Anyway, need a test drive then I'll likely be convinced I think ? Agree with RS3100 (wasn't that a Capri - showing my age now !) Toyota reliable car let down by dealers, who by the way are great until something goes wrong or is a little bit difficult - don't appreciate lies ! And, I used to work for the factory that makes Avensis, shame really, but will never have another car from Mr T because of their dealers..........

:moon: :punch: :strong: :@:swear:

Go for it! Badge snobbery is passe! Once upon a time a joke went around that Skoda had heated rear window so your hands wouldn't get cold pushing the damn thing but now they are right up there with the best. I think the Superb is 'superb'.

The Superby 140CR Elegance Estate is to tow my completly original rust free unrestored Mk1 Capri RS3100, 36 years old, never failed an MOT and with only 49300 fully documented miles :o

I want to keep the miles down and then restore the old girl afte the 40th anniversary of the RS3100 of which there are only about 50 of the 250 ever made still in a roadworthy condition and mine apparently according to the Capri clubs is one of the lowest mileage and most original cars left.

Badges don't bother me, not going to buy another Ford again, well not at least a new one, one dealer wanted a £500 non-returnable deposit just to test drive a Mondeo, a second said he'd call me back within 30 minutes, he called 12 hours later when I was no-longer at work and another said they don't do Mondeos, no demand in their area but I could have a Focus!!! All I could conclude was that Ford has come out of recession so succesfully that they can cherry pick who they want to sell cars to.

Don't buy it - if that sort of thing bothers you, you'll always have a niggling doubt. Wait until you grow up, then re-consider. :)

I'm reminded of a review in The independent recently, where the writer updated an old joke:

How do you double the value of a Skoda?:

Old version - fill the fuel tank.

New version - replace Skoda badges with Audi.
