Heated seats

Featured Replies

Anybody got the heated front seats in their Yeti? Any good? I do like the idea of a warm back in winter ... assuming it heats more than just one's sit-upon.

Got them on mine and tried them out for 'fun' - havent had the Yeti during winter yet

They appear to also heat your lower back - cant wait til the cold weather now. The car will probably be more comfortable than the house!!!

YES - toast.

Our Mazda MX-5 has heated leather seats and they are LOVELY! Have only tried them in the summer too since the car is new as well. They have only an on and off setting though. The Yeti's is far better in that it has three settings. One press = hottest (number 3) and then further pressing the button will reduce the temperature - if I understand the Yeti manual correctly.

Sounds to me like you need to order an Elegance rather than an SE. The cost of speccing up an SE to Elegance levels results in a car more expensive than the Elegance.

BTW, the heated seats are fantastic. They seem much more controllable than those I have tried in other cars - mainly Volvos. Whilst the heat seems to come from the flat base, it does seem to reach up to your lower back.

Agreed, they are the dogs parts. They warm you up before the heater can think about it.....

They are standard in the Ambition in DK. Very nice and quick warm-up. My car is in a heated garage, so I don't really need them in winter, but on a really cold morning, ehrn you have parked outside, they are just great.

mrs commented one crisp morning that the seat heating on full was on a par with spooning....i've yet to be convinced of that though they are excellent

I downloaded the SM manual 2 weeks ago and can email it to anyone who would like a copy.

Sadly its too large a file to upload.

Please send any requests for the brochure to [email protected]

Excuse me, what is 'spooning???' I've never heard of it :dull:

Hi,

As far as I'm aware there's a heating element in both the base and the backrest. Don't have them in my SE as when I tried the one's in my dads Superb, I felt like I was the bread in the toaster :S although he swears by them.

Regards,

TP

SM manual?

It was a bit nippy this morning and I checked them out. Lower part of upright does heat up as well as the base.

Excellent! Thanks. They're on the list ...

I can't think of one reason why heated seats shouldn't be fitted to all cars, at least the ones meant to be driven in the northern hemisphere.. feels great! In the Yeti (and all other Skoda cars with heated seats) both the seat base and the back support is heated.

If you don't rest sharp objects against the base of the seat or lean your knee in the seat when picking things up or cleaning the inside of the car, the heating elements last a LONG time as well

If the BCM/ J-519 registers low battery voltage, it will shut down operation of the heated rear screen, heated seats etc.. Smart!

 The heated seats are divine B)

They are fantastic in the morning when the leather is a little chilly  but great just to relax you and your muscles or warm you up after a wet bike ride etc... ;)

The heat does indeed go up the back too  ...We put on setting 3 to boost start ...you can then turn down to 2 or 1 depending on how hot you like it.

Used them on setting 3 on Thursday night all the way to an outdoor play... so we warm as toast before sitting in our picnic chairs for 2+ hours

Hope this helps

Lady Penelope :sun:

Couldn't do without the heated seats I fitted in my old car. It's lovely having the sun blazing through the sunroof on a crisp spring morning, slightly cold from the front getting warmed from the back.

Have had heated seats on the last two Octys and have used them lots in the winter! Wouldn't have dreamt of not having them on the SM.

As we collected the vehicle 7th May, they really have not been needed yet, but we've turned them to make sure they work ok.

They do! And Lady P has got the hang of them - cook yourself on high, then turn down to simmer!! Works a treat! B)
