New HID kit

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Well, i decided on buying a set of HID's for the old Octy ;)

Took about an hour to fit both of them and i'm very happy with the results

I went for the 6000K ice white ones as i felt they looked nicer than the blue-ish colour on a silver car.

Pics on the way ;)

Very nice  where did you get the kit from and how much did you pay??

ebay special dude ;)http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230450252316

not bad price and the guy was really helpful too

Bargain for £46!! Last time I bought an HID conversion was for my Fabia vRS a few years ago and bought it from HID's 4 U and paid about £200!!

Luckily enough my cars since then have all had OEM fitted xenons so no need to dive into my pockets further lol

Looked at HIDs4U..........didnt see the point in spending 4 or 5 times the price for something thats the same :D

They all light up

Was everything you needed included in the kit?

  • Author

yup  i emailed the guy to ask him if everthing was included, especially at that money :D he even supplies the adaptors for the bulbs if needed ;)

Nice one mate - did the install go ok?

  • Author

Ah Harry, sorry i didnt get back to you :( Cheers for the advice

Yeah install went smoothly :D just need to drill the back light covers now and its perfect ;)

Look good m8 but,

Are the bulbs plastic base or metal??

I have heard a few horror stories about the plastic based ones.

One other point,

When it comes to fitting Xenon to the vRS,

What bul;bs are in it?

Are the Hi/LO

or seperate bulbs,

When I go to change mine I was hoping to fit bi_xenon kit, or is this possible?

  • Author

Plastic. I read the stories too, although i was a bit put off, i dont always have my lights on while driving in the daylight and the majority of people i spoke to that had the plastic ones drive with them on constantly ;)

Mine is a Sport, but they all have the same bulbs (i think) H7's if i'm not mistaken. Seperate bulbs so you SHOULD be able to do BI XENON i would think..........not sure though, pretty new to this HID thing

You Just need two kits if you want to go Bi

No sure about the pre FL but the FL has some funny shaped buld as the main beam, possible H3 :S

Looking good my man.

Ive fitted the same kit to mine tonight apart from i got the 4300k bulbs. Look more OEM. Certainly better than the halogens. :giggle:

Will see your install on Friday. Then let you look for mine. Good luck.
