new fabia vrs mk2

Featured Replies

called in at a skoda dealers today in bradford and they had just got in a blue fabia vrs MK2 so after a few mins looking around it i booked a test drive for the morning looking forward to trying out the DSG gear box ;-)

I was at the skoda dealer in carlisle today and they had a sheet over a fabia in the showroom so I'm guessing its a vrs, I could make out a red tinge through the sheet, I'll have to get a test drive sorted :D

Skoda are sponsoring channel 5's US drama and showing the VRS mk2 in a nice green.

i was impressed with it a first glance it has all the toys as std the sales man asked what i drove i said the MK1 fabia vrs oh there 130bhp this is 180bhp much quicker then i felt i must explain that mine is no longer 130bhp and is now 180bhp i think i upset his sales pich as he looked lost for 10mins lol

haha i can imagine lol. i had a choice between the mk2 fabia or the mk1 fabia n i choose the mk1 because its way better looking can't see me liking the new furby vrs tbh.

will be nice to compare

I bet the salesman will also say that it has to have a DSG to cope with the power and torque. :finger: Erm... the standard Mk1 has 230 lbft, not the measly 186 lbft (250NM) that the Mk2 has.

mine only has 285ft-lb

I have just been for a test drive in one :) will tell more when I'm home :)

stuff it i wouldnt change my 220bhp mk1 vrs for one anyway :L

well just got back from skoda had to wait as some cheeky git took it on a 2hour test drive any way review time seats a comfy and the ride is much better than the MK1 vrs in std form gear change in auto is very smooth and ungerky same useing the padel shift very quick very smooth they have kept alot of the nice touches from the MK1 A/C cooled glove box cuby holes ect ect and added bits it needed like MP3 stero and ipod/media interface brakes where very good steering was very responisve and not to light good vison all round more head room and leg room compared to the MK1 elctronic diff is a nice touch although i didnt get to test that out AVG mpg was 27mpg but its still very new only 60 miles on it tax is £125 per year not sure on ins as there was no group indicated and the sales man didnt know now down to the important stuff power well its nippy but not a fast hatch by any means IMO the little 1.4 has to work hard and be reved very high to get any sort of speed i get the feeling a 1.6 would have been better compareing it to my old meriva vxr it just didnt have the sheer push you back in your seat of that or my MK1 vrs saying that it wasnt a bad car to drive if your comeing from a lower powered car and it is impressive that they have managed to get 180bhp out of a 1.4 but im geussing at motor way speeds its performance will plumit as well as its mpg all in all not a bad car but expensive for what you get for a total repayable price of £18300 with a few options think i will stick with my dirty derv much quicker and alot more economical but would be nice if the 7 gear DSG was retro fitable lol

Intersting stuff, thanks for the mini review, think I'll stick with the #1, even if the power comes

in one big lump (like your review :D ) I like my torque, and I can't afford a new one anyways

no me nither lol just wanted to play with it on another note i have driven a remaped new shape punto 1.4 turbo 207bhp so geussing a remapped fabia would be similar and that wasnt much quicker realy again to small an engine a 1.6 would have been much better i doubt you could get much more from a 1.4 with out alot of work

Si, what are the seats like in the new one, look a bit Focus'ish in a photo.

Nice little review. Pity about the lack of fullstops and paragraphs ;)

And shouldn't this be in the Fabia Mk2 section?

Thankyou.

I put it in this section as i was comparing it to my vRS.

Hope my grammer is ok for you now.

not bad actualy very comfy and look to be hard wearing a better colour than the cream in the mk1 that stains so easy.

I went to a Skoda dealer in Newcastle today and had a look round the one in the showroom which I was very impressed with, it was maybe a little on the chunky side for my liking but still very nice :)

It would have been nice to see it in green (it was blue) but never mind one will be about soon enough.

The interior looked nice but I wonder if there is optional leather ?

i asked about leather no option indicated

Have a look @ the Citroen DS3. Not quite in the same segment but around £16K for one with the bigger engines.

  • Author

just looked at the DS3 not a bad looking car my get a test drive in that to compare

  • 4 months later...

Same here I have just had a stage 1 remap with 182 bhp and 326 lb ft plus it can pooch about at 1500 revs doing 75 mpg as well!
