Goodbye vRS - Hello vRS

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

well after much deliberation I have almost placed an order having liased with two Skoda dealers and having them bounce off each other for the best deal.

I think this will be my last chance ever to buy a new car, seeing as VAT is going up next year and Skoda still are selling new cars VAT free.

I have fallen for the Candy White Facelift vRS. My current one is a 2008 vRS in Race Blue.

The spec I want is:

2011 vRS 2.0T in Candy White

Xenons

Maxi dot

MDI (not sure if I need this as the Jumbo box has an iPod socket does'nt it?!)

Heated seats

Front/Rear Parking Sensors

Auto dimming mirror

Spare wheel

Bluetooth

Dealer says there is approx 12 week waiting list. Has anyone been waiting longer? Dealer has offered this car with extras at around the £18,300 mark.

Does this sound feasible? I thought with the extras it did'nt sound too bad. Can it be got cheaper?

I have almost convinced myself. Unless anyone knows a better deal elsewhere

im doing a similar thing, my PCP deal will be cheaper with the new car - and cost to change £125 new arrangement fee. im laughing.

Have you turned gay or what ? :o

Pre-facelift looks way better, especially in race blue or black

Oh feck...........they're all at it

Check the Drive the Deal price, as long as you are around that price you will be about as cheap as you can get.

£18,300 does not look too bad for the spec (I got a race blue CR estate manual, leather, heated seats, sunset glass, Maxidot, spare wheel, auto lights, for £19k). I take it you are getting a DSG then since these are the only ones you can spec bluetooth with (can not be ordered with a manual car).

Thats cheap for a dealer! but you wont get bluetooth with out DSG which is another £1k! Save your money on an MDI - there is an Aux in (3.5mm) socket in the not so jumbo box.

Order a proper colour too ;)

You wouldn't be saying that if you've had an MDI

Candy white?? Good choice!

I was umming and ahhing about the MDI, but as the SD card now works brilliantly in the Bolero, glad I saved my money!

Thanks for the replies guys. Having considered some of the comments I reckon there are a few options I could happily scrub. Firstly the car I spec d isn't a DSG model. I prefer without. So therefore the Bluetooth option is gone. Surprised the dealer didn't mention this! Secondly I am not after leather so heated seats could be scrubbed as well. Thirdly I am more than happy with the iPod aux socket inside the jumbo box so maybe the MDI is not required either.

That's probably another £700-800 quid I'll save.

I looked at Broadspeed but their prices are similar to main dealer prices as main dealers are offering the no VAT deal.

The finance packages don't seem too bad either. 2.25% flat is a good finance rate. The solutions plan is good to keep the rentals down but I wouldn't look forward to paying the balloon at the end! :(

I think the point of solutions is you dont pay the balloon, just hand the car back or trade for a new one.

Alternatively, I beleive you can arrange a new PCP on the "balloon" and pay that over the next 1/2/3 years as an option.

That's good to know mate. Thanks for the heads up.

So realistically speaking if I placed an order this weekend I wouldn't be seeing the car til almost November then? :(

I get the feeling the Petrols are quicker to get hold of, the sales guy gave me a 8 - 12 week delivery in the contract but to be honest the car sat in germany for two weeks waiting for VAG builds to fill up the ship before setting sail.

Been told that delivery on a Fabia vRS would be mid October

My PCP will be £20 a month less when I get my new vRS.

Keeping in mind I have ordered a sunroof, spare wheel, maxidot and i'm having a new towbar fitted as well (could have re-used the old one but didn't fancy that), I think this is awesome. Should say i'm NOT putting any money into the deal. Oh the figure includes transfer of cherished plate.

For me it was a no brainer, do I keep my March 2009 vRS which by the time September comes will have 30000 miles on the clock, or do I get a nice shiney new one with the above extras? Easy!

same with me. ive ordered a white FL vrs in june which is £10 less per month than my current 58 plate. it has more extras too so brucie bonus :)

In which case, you might as well wait another month or two and get an 11 plate in January ;)

Not a bad idea although I can't wait that long for one.

Plus VAT goes up in January. I am not sure whether dealers would honour the VAT exemption for Jan/feb delivery vehicles. :S

My petrol vRS took 10 weeks & 1 day from order to pick up. Seems petrols may be quicker!

Not sure how much your choice of options will affect things though?

dunc.

not been funny here but i think the deal is half ok,i got the same candy white, full leather, maxi dot, spare wheel, auto lights and wipers, heated seats ok no xenons or parking sensors but i got a 170 tdi and my car was £17500,got full tank of fuel, boot liner and rubber mats in with the deal aswell

Well my spec has changed. Asked dealer for a quote today without heated seats or Bluetooth. That's almost a grand off already. Don't forget xenons cost over 700 quid and front/rear park sensors are over 500. The car should be around the 17000 mark now. It's the gucci add ons that hike things up. Waiting for the finance quote to be emailed over from dearler. Should be with me tommorrow.

I think xenons are pricy but with daytime LEDs they look stunning and look great on a white car. ;)

similar for me, but im looking to save around 40 a month, with the same spec as my current car (DSG, rear parkers, maxi)

no brainer indeed

im also not adding anything to the deal, other than the arrangement fee.

for me, the bolero and paddle shifts make that an easy thing to forget about

I assume neither of those 2 dealers have told you that you can't have Bluetooth on the vRS unless it's got the DSG gearbox?

If it helps I can supply the car for around £17,700ish just some rough calculations if you are interested I can work it out exactly.
