Can anyone help me find the following info?

1. Latest firmware version for Columbus as of August 2010

2. Latest map version for UK/IRL as of August 2010

3. Who makes the Columbus and who develops firmware features for it OEM or VAG?

Also on a Columubus without the hidden menu how do you check what firmware / mapping version is actually loaded ?

2) V6 is the current version

3) Made by Continental, software is custom written by Siemens I think.

Without the hidden menu you need VCDS to interogate the unit directly to see the version numbers.

Latest firmware is 1300 for A versions and 2800 for B&C Versions

Latest maps are V6.1

You'd need to pay a dealer, Just download and apply the update yourself if you want it. That'll only cost you the price of a CD.

Do you mean just the maps of firmware I have just received the updated map and downloaded it, how do you do the firmware??? is that also available from other sources, and downloaded through a CD

I have read somewhere that the VW RNS 510, the same as Columbus, is manufactured by VDO. I may be wrong, of course.

Just hold the Setup button for about 20 seconds.First will appear a Radio Menu(With AM/FM submenus) and then after a couple seconds the hidden menu.
