Next car?

Featured Replies

I'm not too sure has posted a thread abt this b4.

I was just thinking whats everyone's next REALISTIC car(IE a car within someone's affordability and not just shouting it out for the sake of it).

I think my fabia vrs is faultless but it seems its lacking the sex appeal and whooph, maybe i need converting to jabba.

I'm considering a Honda DC5 as my next car within the next couple of years.

So I'll be hoping to jabba my car within 2005, all down to money im afraid!!!

How long would you keep your car for and what would be your next car, realisitically?

I will be dropping the sporty vRS, I have had some fun but practicality and comfort mean more to me, I was deeply impressed by my test drive in the Octy 2, so I plan to trade the vRS in against an Octy 2 Elegence TDi as soon as I have cleared about 80% of the finance on the vRS (by which time the car should be worth more than the outstanding balance (usually about 3.5 years into a 4 year finance package).

Unless anything better gets released in the next 2 years I will be buying an Octy 2.0 TDI Elegance , probably an estate.

If I plan to change my car which I'm not, the more likely thing will be to drop a different, newer, maybe more powerful ;) lump into her and let her carry on living the dream. :D

Might well upgrade to the new Octavia vRS diesel if it comes about.

:rubchin: A new Golf GTi would be nice.

Now you really are being delusional :D

Buy an octy vrs and put ur lump in and it will be faster than standard.....

Hmm GTI is a tempting thought but

How much would PD150 running gear be I wonder? :D

although to be fair, a new lump may well not involve using an oil burner ;)

New shape Audi A4 1.8T Quattro Avant with some fettling ;)

When the Octy is up for replacement, probably about this time next year,I'm currently looking at two possibilities.....

If the new vRS estate is on the way and looks useful then that will an option depending on spec.

the other one that looks interesting is the Hyundai Tucson which is a 4X4 but with similar buying/running/tax costs to the Octy Vrs and the 4X4 capability would be useful for rally work /towing etc

Shhhh.

BMW 530D (last generation, with lots of toys)

Sorely tempted by a new Octy or a Superb, but, having taken a serious cut on the cars value to get rid of it, it's a case of once bitten, twice shy I'm afraid.

(and yes, I know this is a bad time of year to sell a car, but come on, three weeks and more, without so much as a cocktail weiner, let alone a small pork chipolata?. Sorry, I can't afford to lose

Im planning on running the octy for around 5 or so years. Once I have a couple of ncb under the hat ill sell the octy, ill be buying my mums 1.0 micra for weekday use and for the weekends a ford f150 svt.

Octy 2 TDI Estate for me please.

Probably the new octy tdi elegance, (but just second hand, much cheaper) but I would have to go back to an estate... it's just so much easier to park than the hatch :D

I might be tempted by an Octy Elegance estate, or perhaps another Superb in Elegance trim. I will also consider an A6 or Merc E270 or 320, saloon or estate, new or used...but always diesel.

Technically my next car's going to be a Furby vRS (it's arriving in a couple of weeks). But my NEXT car after that will probably be another Furby vRS if there's an improved (PD150/160) model, or a new Octy 2 vRS (if it's a diesel), or failing that an Octy 2 TDi saloon.

That is a godo point!

I dont mind another Furby vRS if its got the PD160 or if octy2 vrs is a diesel.

So my possible realistic cars is another furby vrs, octy2 vrs or a Honda DC5 (integra R)

I think I'll have a look at a Superb V6 TDi, an Accord diesel, and maybe a second-hand S-TYPE diesel. Won't be for 2 or 3 years, though, so who knows what will be out there...

Personally I wouldnt see the point in swapping a PD130 Fabia for a supposed PD160 model. Wouldnt it be cheaper to tune the current one?

Anyway, I have no plans for any new car ever in the future. This one is here to stay, and will be a long term "project". Cant really afford to keep paying out loads on hire purchase payments and get my own place at the same time.

I drive an Octy vRS right now. I'm definetly in 'hot-hatch' mode even though I'm 33 years old. No kids (yet), but I'll need something practical and sporty. If I do entertain the idea of children, I'd probably go for a Zafira GSI and get it 'fettled' (that is that chavism, is it not ;)). 240+ Bhp plus 7 seats, everyone's happy :D

But really, if I'm still in a decent IT job (I'm a java programmer, at the moment ;)), and I've paid off my

Probably an MPV, so my octy can be a plaything, or a plaything like a caterfield \ atom \ etc... with my octy still being the main transport...

Can't think of anything else that does everything my octy does... although a 2.0TDi DSG 4x4 octy would be tempting.

(I've also always had a strange fascination with the Passat W8, and they are cheap these days...)

Depending on finances (and a lottery win) one of those
