here you go...

 Look good!

The vRS mirrors are heated IIRC? Don't know if that might cause any problems. No idea about the actual fitment im afraid.

Was thinking along the same lines for the Fabia. The mirrors do look the same, but really need to see how they are wired up and if the base plates are the same.

Wouldn't have thought the wiring would be a major problem though. I'm sure someone could get them to work correctly. :)

Im sure the Octavia's mirrors are identical to the upper range Golf 4 ones , they certainly look the same! So , if they look the same , I'm assuming they use the same fitment method , I mean surely Skoda wouldnt spend money developing their own method of fitting the mirrors just to stop us all being able to use Golf 4 based mods on them....would they?? ;)

The aluminium ones off one of the top end Audis would look great, especially on a black car :)

Like these?

Quite fancy them indeed, and only

If they were curved the other way, you could use them as a shaving mirror whilst away on camping holidays. I have owned loads of cars with loads of chrome, but I now think it looks naff. Eg I much prefer the matt black roof rails on my 4X4 to the chromed rails fitted to Audi Estates. But I guess it is a case of chromed for that upmarket look to set Audo owners apart from the Joneses. (Yes, I have owned 2 Audis, and they rust and break down just like all cars do).

And presumably they improve performance by being slippier ? :p

i have looked closely (without disassembling) at my mates 4motion golf parked next to the octavia... the mirrors would seem to have come from the same parts bin... the question that i need to answer is .. 3 wire or 4...

i assume 4 wire is heated and 3 wire is none? guess the screwdriver is coming out on saturday....

Don't know about the Skoda wiring, but I know that Toyota (cough, sorry for swearing :ignore: cough) uses 3 wires for normal and 5 for heated mirrors, so I guess that it must work along the same lines.

mmm DTM mirrors nice. I was planning these myself too, looks like you'll beat me to it though:p After inspecting the Golf, would you know if the base plates are the same shape?

it would appear so...

you would assume that a car using the sames engine / handles / switches / climate control / would use the sames wouldnt you?

I assume the Bora/Leon is the same as well ?

Disco check the gauges thread...

The base plates could well have a different shape and dimensions, as the doors on the golf are probably a different shape.

All it takes is a tape measure and a large car park (to find that Golf mk4) ;)

Q.

Saw a Pug 206 the other day with M3 style side mirrors with indicators in.

Now I'd like some of them.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Talk to Disco - I believe he'll even do you ones with neons round the actual mirror part (choice of colours available) :D

LOL, I dont think the neon would really suit the Octavia! But I can do M3 with mercedes LED indicators, assuming the golf plate fits;)

Quinten,

Where did you find the aluminium finish door mirrors. Quite fancy a set of them.

Cheers

Jimmy, they are from www.milotec.de ... Shame it is a German site, and they don't have a distributor in the UK, although I seem to remember JHM Buttco selling their stuff as well...

Q.

Buttco do sell them and the carbon fibre ones

Jon

Disco,

if you've still got Dave's car maybe you can check out the template on that?;)

Cheers.

Adrian.

Good thinking batman, consider that job on the list for the day:)
