Well thought it was time I gave a update on progress.

Cars going well (still have a slightly strange noise from front left on times but hoping that once i get coilovers and another 4 wheel alignment (by someone who knows what their doing (not VW!) it might get rid of it).

Had the S3 intercooler sitting in the house for a while now and finally managed to get all the silicone hoses and aluminium pancake replacement pipes delivered so can get it all fitted asap.

Ive also managed to finally buy the 200 cell Cat and get it all welded up to the toyosports downpipe that been a tremendous hang out for spiders for a few months :). Cheers to the local Longlife and only £40. Must say there is a big difference in the power of the car without knowing exactly how much (was hoping a rolling road would be at GTI International on the weekend, but to be honest the temperature was a huge effect on power that day so without decent cooling the figures would have been poor) and only a slight increase in noise while now having a much more satisfying note under hard acceleration.

Looks wise the car has not really changed after deciding not to go for the black roof and then after temp fitting the mk5 Gti sideskirts and not liking them deciding they werent going on either (open to offers on them and although they are painted my silver/blue colour, the hardwork of flattening the texture off them is done so a simple quick rub down and paint to what ever colour you want is easy. Try pricing the r32 sideskirts and you will see why i spent so much time prep'in them!). Only thing i have done is changed the caliper colour to bright orange as fancied a change and really happy with the results.

On a not so nice note some ***** decided to key a line into my bonnet which aint gonna polish out so have to live with it!

Car ran 15 dead (couldnt believe i didnt even get 14.99) on the 1/4 mile Sunday (1st run aswell with cool car and then got slower all afternoon) in silly hot temps (The S3 cooler was much needed but not fitted :(). Was hoping to get mid 14s, but after chatting with a few Golf boys in the que who had k04 conversions and were running 7 tenths slower than 2 weeks before with the heat, i did feel a bit better and beat a same spec tsi golf and leon cupra (both with Revo stage 2 remaps) in a race, so the bus aint to slow :).

Im thinking coilover now tbh so should be a set of Eibach pro springs for sale soon only covered 4k (and standard dampers which have only done 19k)

I only loose fitted them with a little masking tape so didnt think to take any pictures fella. All the original unused 3m tape is still on them.

Wow expensive hobby those r36 are to run. Take it your not doing much mileage lol

Never did much mileage in the vRS either , about 1500 to 2000 miles a year but I cycle 12,000 miles a year! bloody hot today coming home from work( one  14% one 17% and and one 20% hill climb and no air con!

Bloody hell thats crazy and i do the 5 mile each way cycle into work sometimes when the weather is decent but 12,000 miles! Surely the cost of taxing that car for such little mileage mate u might aswell get a silly little tax free car and have a tax free track car to put a smile on your face?

But how would I get jt to the track? Trust me the little milaege I do are good ones. I used to do 2000 miles a year in switzerland France and Germany but rent for two girls at uni ( 21 grand in 3 years ) put paid to that. Driving holuday in America this year though

Ive now adjusted the coilovers and happy enough with the setup. Might need a few more tweaks to get it right as still a little stiff for everyday use. Anyone whos interesed in my eibach pro springs and/or standard shocks (covered 20k) just gimme a shout

Lovely car mate and great to meet you last week too!

Cheers lads and good to speak to you both. Should have given it a wash again (did the night before but was raining when i left work to head up to the meet so stinking soon enough) but just couldnt be bothered lol. Ive sorted the nose dive out and happy enough with it although i really do need to pull my finger out and mechanically polish the paintwork as desperately needs it and has been done since being painted. Wardy i hope the car is ok and gets sorted without any issues.

Well thought i would give a little update on the car. Not a great deal has changed other than a few small mods. Still havent got around to fitting the S3 intercooler and its starting to annoy me that it isnt on yet so need to get a day sorted and get that and all the replacement hoses and aluminium pipes to replace the 2 pancake ones.

Anyway on with what i have actually managed to get done. Ive fitted the forge catch can kit which im massively pleased to get done as those standard push fit plastic pipes off the PCV are terrible and constantly leaked, dripping oil onto the manifold heat shield and the smell of oil then came into the cockpit along with the worry that one day that oils was gonna catch fire off the super hot manifold or turbo and send the car up in smoke. Also like the fact that the Forge kit replaces the plastic windscreen filler neck and cap with a smart black aluminium neck with forge embossed in it and a black silicone neck down to the tank. Yet to see how much oil its gonna catch but any not going back into the intake pipe will be fine by me. Also as the TSI engine cover has to be cut for one of the catch can pipe so as its off at the moment im gonna paint it as the cover is rather boring. Im thinking gunmetal grey on the black and then a red centre. Also gonna check the badge size and get a new style badge (please let me know if anyone knows one that fits to save me the time?) to replace the rubbish black looking Skoda one.

Also ive tinted the front lights which i feel gives the car a nice looking mean look, even if it does affect the headlight strength so will have to see how annoyed i become with that in the coming months and may well end up in the bin (or changed to a very light tint). Also decided with the left over pieces i had i would tint the clear parts of the rear light clusters and very happy with the way they turned out. Only took a few minutes and a steady hand with a craft knife.

The car is still sitting on the deck as although i get annoyed by creeping over speed bumps i love the look of the car, but im sure its only a matter of time until i am forced (by the missus as drives her mad lol) to raise the front about 25mm.

IMAG1399.jpg

Still looking great mate.

Now get that intercooler on :)
