I would leave the rear debadged tbh, it looks lovely, just have the new vRS badge in the front grille.

Put the vRS badge where it's supposed to go - here...

Oh, and put the latest style rear light clusters on too

dainott, let me firstly say that you have my complete respect for carryout all this work AND for updating the thread regularly with pics, so PLEASE don't take what I am about to say the wrong way (since it is PROBABLY me being a bit too OCD!)

Seeing the pics of your car in the booth with the tailgate attached, the bumper attached, what appears to be the lights attached, would I be correct in assuming that if you opened the tailgate there would be a 'line' of different-coloured paint on the bumper because the car has been sprayed with the tailgate on?

What I am really saying is: Would it not be a "proper" job is the bumper, tailgate, lights etc had been removed, then car + panels sprayed, then put back on again?

I am obviously not any expert on spraying so I am probably wrong!

OOBSTER dont worry mate im happy with any questions/comments positive and/or negative as at the end of the day everyone has and entitled to their opinion.

In regards to the bootlid the inside of the boot was masked and so there is no paint lip as boot was opened (carefully lol) and painted at the same time as pic shows below.

We decided to fit the rear bumper to paint as there is such a small area under the rear tail lights that wont have paint on but would only ever be seen when the bumper or lights were removed and also as the rear bumper makes up a large part of the rear wing there was the possibility that if it was painted separately it would be easy to put a little more pearl on one part and then would be very noticable.

The front bumper was painted off the car along with the side skirts, mirrors and handles due to the amount of nooks and crannies. It is a proper job fella :)

Silver1011 swapping to the later rear lights is possible, but really want the led set that there is a thread on the site for somewhere so will see how the cash goes as £200+ is a fair bit to pay for rear lights lol!

Im proper stuck on whether to leave the rear or to fit the vrs badge (thinking bottom right just above the last fold line in the boot). Then again it does look good on the top left where it's supposed to go lol. Oh I give up!

Regarding the lights leave as they are, I do not like the new ones, I like you like the LED ones, (dark )I would put badge on the right below the swage line, just to confuse you some more :giggle:

Defo on the LED's, just get a decent set that are bright enough and E-marked, if they looked a little more OEM like these I'd be tempted too, unfortunately these are for the hatch, all the one's for the estate look very non-standard.

Either way just don't be tempted to tint or black-out your current clusters, this a step too close to a Halfords Corsa!

As for the badge, buy it, walk up to the car and stick it - make your decision right then :giggle:

you coming to the meet then

Fair enough dainott, my OCD brain can settle down now LOL! Looking forward to seeing the pics with it all back together again.

Paint looks brilliant emoticon-0148-yes.gif

And another vote for leaving the rear de-badged, 100%.

Think it will remain unabadged at the moment and see how I feel at a later date. It's about a third back together now but struggling until next week to work on it now. I have spent an afternoon with the paint now and love it tbh. I can't wait to see it on a bright sunny day as will be striking to say the least :).

Probably not a bad idea, I've just changed my vRS and Octavia badges, £15 each + VAT :o

I did wonder how much they would be!

Anyone got a quick pic of the the new front vrs grill badge so I can have a look?

Lovely job will invest in one of them for the front grill me thinks. Much nicer than the original vrs badge
