Just be carefull... if it's a make that maybe unheard of by most, and they seem too cheap then they are obviously no good and your life will be at risk......

Haha just messing :p

I have a friend who works for Michelin in France developing tyres...

One of her more recent 'problems' was a budget tyre from Michelin's own 'in-house' budget brand that was outperforming one of the Michelin branded products.... slightly embarrasing for her but it just goes to show that sometimes even the big manufacturers get it wrong and 'cheaper' brands can be better.

Another one along the same line is my own experience of Dunlops and cracking (wouldn't go near them again- EVER!) and my own experience of Goodyear Eagle NCT's that were shocking in both dry and wet conditions.

Now I use Vredestien... great tyres at good prices!

Yep love the Maxxis and properly cheap, they started more in the offroad/dirt sector, I thought I'd give them a try as they make my favourite MTB tyres but they're really impressive. Not as much outright grip in the dry as Yokos but then not much does. Kumho KU31s were my previous budget favs but not any more. (I'm running the naughty side of 400lb/ft so they do get a thorough testing)
